Not too happy with the state of the skin on your face or parts of your body? There are some good high-tech medical solutions to help fill, lift or retexture skin. We asked four top aesthetic and skin clinics for their recommended facial treatments in Singapore for wrinkles and saggy skin, and facials for pigmentation removal. Plus treatments for sun-damaged skin on the hands or face that include peels, lasers and injectables at some excellent skin clinics.
Helping Sun-damaged Skin
Are you seeing the impact of sun damage like age spots and other uneven pigmentation on your face, neck and hands? Your skin can get particularly damaged by the sun, resulting in broken veins on top of wrinkles, loss of collagen and uneven skin tone.
Dr Yvonne Goh emphasises that prevention is key. Wear a good wide-brimmed hat and, if you must go into the sun, make sure you’re layering the sunblock on at least every two to three hours.
Although not a solution to more serious skin issues like melanoma, there are also medical solutions to help sun damage. For example, Dr Goh addresses photo-ageing with a multi-treatment approach comprising a combination of medical-grade treatments. She customises each patient’s treatment programme based on their lifestyle and the extent of their photo-ageing, using a formula of medical-grade laser, Ellipse IPL, chemical peels, Profhilo, focused ultrasound such as Ultherapy, and HIFU, all of which help reverse the effects of sun damage. Each of these or a combination of them can target and fade pigmented lesions such as freckles and sunspots, reduce broken veins, restore elasticity, lift and rejuvenate sun-damaged skin.
These medical-grade treatments aim to improve overall skin quality. They lead to better skin texture, brighter skin, and giving collagen a boost – mostly with little or no downtime.
Arrange a consultation with Dr Goh to talk about a customised approach to your concerns.

Hydrafacial
This medical-grade facial treatment in Singapore combines gentle cleansing, exfoliation and extraction with hydrating and antioxidant benefits, resulting in clearer and brighter skin without downtime.
Offered at W Skin & Laser Clinic, the popular facial promises to improve concerns like oily and acne-prone skin, enlarged pores, hyperpigmentation and brown spots, but it also works equally well as a maintenance facial for those with ageing skin. Vortex technology is used to cleanse the pores and lift away impurities, while hydrating the skin with a nutrient-rich solution. As the vortex effect is designed to easily dislodge blackheads and whiteheads, extraction is quick and painless. Next, the patented HydroPeel tip gently exfoliates dead skin cells without any irritation, resulting in even and painless skin resurfacing results. This prepares the skin for the final step: the infusion of skincare ingredients.
With its spiral-like design, the VortexFusion device infuses hydrating solutions and potent antioxidants into the skin, resulting in a clearer and more even complexion after just one session.
With a series of sessions, the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and hyper-pigmentation is reduced. This skin clinic recommends monthly treatments are recommended to maintain the effects and keep breakouts at bay, especially for those with oily skin.

Hand Rejuvenation
Our hands can sometimes age faster than our faces. One reason for this is that they’re open to the elements most of the time. Dr Marco Faria Correa says he has many clients – men and women – opting for a hand rejuvenation treatment at his aesthetic clinic in Singapore This can be for anything from pigmentation or age spots on the hands to a lack of fullness, or when veins and tendons start to be prominent.
Fillers are one option, but these only last three to six months and can cause quite a bit of bruising. Another approach is fat grafting. This involves taking fat from other body areas to fill empty spaces between the tendons and to cover veins. Dr Marco says the results can be long-lasting – plus, the procedure is done under local anaesthetic in around an hour, with very little downtime.
If lightening creams aren’t working on the age spots and pigmentation on your hands, then chemical peels, laser and IPL can also be used. Dr Marco also offers microdermabrasion. All of these methods can improve the skin’s texture and make your hands look better. Using a good body scrub can also help. And, of course, having a good hand cream is another way to improve texture.
