Getting eyelash extensions or a lash lift in Singapore is always a good idea. Curled, full lashes ready to go with zero risk of humidity-induced raccoon mascara eyes? Yes, please! Recently, we encountered The Eyelist, a boutique beauty studio newly relocated from Shenton Way to Orchard Plaza. Its treatments promise beautiful results that last for up to eight weeks.
Indeed, ensuring long-lasting retention is the modus operandi at The Eyelist. That’s thanks to an innovative technique created by founder and lash artist Rena coined Everlashing. (She also teaches it at The Eyelist and various salons.)
With this technique as well as her custom blends of nourishing formulas and adhesives, she’s able to offer these less-damaging, longer-lasting eyelash extensions and lash lifts in Singapore. Alternatively, you can also opt for gel lash extensions and lash refills. Two EL team members recently put The Eyelist’s signature treatments to the test.
Treatment: Everlashing Classic Eyelash Extensions in Singapore
Reviewer: Cherry Lai
I love my eyelash extensions, just not so much the emotional roller coasters they bring! I’ve left a few salons on cloud nine only for the excitement to dip with every lash that fell off – sometimes as soon as the next day. That’s why I was eager to check out The Eyelist’s longer-lasting extensions.
The studio’s new location at Orchard Plaza is cosy yet inviting, with dusty pink walls, a plush bed and a reclining chair. Founder Rena is a lash educator at various salons, and her expertise was evident as she guided me through a myriad of styles, lengths, and thickness options that would suit my eye shape and lash type. I was impressed by how Rena tailors her treatments to each client. We decided on a custom style – a blend of ‘Dolly’ and ‘Butterfly Cat Eye’ – for the look of bigger, rounder eyes with a subtle winged effect.
To achieve a natural, layered look, Rena mixed single lash extensions with more voluminous lashes. She even gave my droopy lashes a lash lift to help them blend into the new lashes better. One and a half hours flew by. I had felt some stinging with other extensions, but not here; there was zero discomfort. The result was exactly what I wanted – lashes that looked natural with just the right amount of oomph.
It’s been over a month now and to my surprise, the long retention was no empty promise. There were some fallouts that started from week three, but my lashes have largely remained lush. These are definitely some of the longest-lasting eyelash extensions I’ve had. Maintenance is also a breeze. A gentle brush with water in the morning, and I am good to go. These eyelash extensions would be ideal for low-maintenance ladies looking for beautiful lashes that last.
Treatment: Aroma Oil Everlifting Lash Lift in Singapore
Reviewer: Juliet K
I’ve tried eyelash extensions a few times and while they look great, I find them a bit of a hassle to maintain! I was therefore interested to try the Aroma Oil Lash Lift at The Eyelist. It’s a treatment which curls your existing eyelashes to give the appearance of longer, fuller lashes without needing extensions.
I opted for the full lash lift with maximum curl (there’s also a more natural option if you prefer a less dramatic look), which also includes tinting. As I’d never had a lash lift before, I was a bit nervous about what to expect. But Rena soon put me at ease explaining each step of the process. Basically, it’s like a perm for your hair but for your eyelashes. A solution is applied to the lashes to give them a curled effect and then they are lifted and set into position. Nourishing aroma oil is regularly applied to the lashes throughout the treatment to prevent them from drying out. The Eyelist doesn’t use any glue in their treatment so your lashes stay healthy and moisturised. The tint is also made from black soya bean paste – no chemical dyes are used.
The treatment took around 75 minutes and I was surprised how gentle the whole procedure was. I even dozed off for a while. I love my new dark, curly lashes and maintenance is really easy; I just apply some eyelash serum and brush them gently. The curl in my lashes has also lasted really well. While I would still have extensions for special occasions and to add length, this lash lift treatment is ideal for a natural day-to-day look in Singapore without the need for mascara.
You can find The Eyelist at #02-32 Orchard Plaza.
