The Parting Glass – Immersive Theatre Experience by Gateway Arts
2 September - 13 September
From 2 to 13 September, The Parting Glass – Gateway Arts’ first immersive, site-specific production – will be staged at The Blackbird, a gastrobar at Gillman Barracks.
The Parting Glass follows young couple Jim and Sarah as memories of their relationship uncover deeper truths about love, loneliness and human connection. As they revisit a relationship that’s equal parts sweet and heartbreaking, they reveal the unseen emotional burdens people carry even when surrounded by love and friendship. Audiences share the same space as the characters, experiencing the humour, warmth and heartache from steps away.
The play is adapted for Singaporean audiences by theatre multi-hyphenate Krish Natarajan, from the script by British playwright Chris O’Connor. Tickets available from here.
The Parting Glass renews Gateway Arts’ collaboration with Eagles Mediation & Counselling Centre (EMCC), following Third Man Syndrome in 2025. EMCC counsellors join every post-show discussion and are available for support.
