#1 Lavender shortbread

Crumbly, buttery biscuits with a hint of lavender? Yes, please! Made by a family bakery in Dorset, these fragrant shortbread hearts are equally popular with kids and adults alike.

waitrose tea
These convenient teabags make for the perfect picnic drink

#2 Manuka honey, peach and rosemary tea

A picnic isn’t complete without a good cuppa, so be sure to pack a hot flask and some individual teabags in your picnic basket. Our top pick? This aromatic blend of Manuka honey, peach and rosemary goes well with pretty much anything – or, if you prefer something more exotic, try the blueberry, lime and coconut blend.

waitrose biscuits
These biscuits go absolutely well with cheeses and dips

#3 Beetroot, nigella and three-seed oat biscuits

We love how heart-healthy yet flavourful these vegetarian-friendly biscuits are. Packed with oatmeal, pumpkin seeds and millet seeds, these savoury snacks work great as a base for all your cheeses and pâtés.

waitrose chocolate spread
Heaven in a bottle

#4 Dark chocolate spread

Go all out and indulge in this rich, smooth and intense dark chocolate spread, the perfect accompaniment for many on-the-go treats, such as sandwiches, crackers, cakes, and even fruit. Made with dark Belgian chocolate (72%), this spread will be a hit with everyone.

#5 Chocolate, hazelnut and praline tartlets

What’s a good meal without a sweet ending? Newly launched in stores are these dainty desserts that pack a punch in the flavour department. Think glazed chocolate and hazelnut filling on an almond-and-white-chocolate wafer base topped with caramelised hazelnut pieces in a sweet shortcrust pastry. Note to self: pack more of this naughty treat, as everyone will be reaching for it!

#6 Salted caramel truffles

We wouldn’t recommend bringing along a box of chocolates – unless you’re throwing a picnic party in an air-conditioned space. But fans of sweet-salty combinations will love these milk-and-dark-chocolate truffles, enrobed in Swiss chocolate and dusted with cocoa powder. These morsels of happiness are simply irresistible, and are the perfect bite-sized treat for entertaining at home, too.

The full Waitrose 1 range will be exclusively available at all Cold Storage, Market Place and Jasons stores from 7 April onwards.
