Host an intimate Christmas party with Cold Storage

1st January 2022 by Dinesh Ajith 5 Min Read

With the holidays around the corner, it’s just about time to start preparing for your Christmas feast. While the holiday season is one that’s filled with joy, the weeks leading up to it can sometimes be hectic. Plan your party early with these Cold Storage Christmas promotions. These affordable meal bundles include Christmas turkeys, roasts and more!

Pre-order Christmas feasts with Cold Storage

This year, the supermarket has put together a lineup of Christmas specials from turkey to roasts, hams and more. Here are eight things to look forward to at Cold Storage this Christmas.

#1 Christmas feasts that are ideal for sharing

If you’re planning a year-end get together but don’t want to go through the hassle of ordering individual dishes, Cold Storage Christmas feasts are perfect for you. The Hearty Feast ($90) features a rosemary roasted chicken with chestnut stuffing, honey turkey ham, smoked garlic chicken sausages and ribeye roast beef with Italian herbs and brown sauce. The bundle serves eight to ten guests, is halal and is also a great option for those who enjoy a variety of meats. Also available is the Scrumptious Christmas Feast ($90), which includes Banjo shoulder bone-in ham, pork sausage snail with cranberry sauce and smoked duck breast.

#2 Christmas turkeys

The quintessential Christmas item and the star of the show has got to be the roast turkey. Stick with the classics and order Cold Storage’s Butterball roasted turkey (4.5-5.4kg, $65) which is individually pre-brined to preserve its tenderness and rich flavour. If you prefer something with more complex, smoky flavours, order the herb chardonnay smoked turkey (4-4.9kg, $65) or the smoked turkey (4-4.9kg, $60). Each of these options is pre-cooked and chilled in a cooler bag, so all you need to do is pop it in the oven before serving.

#3 Holiday hams and roasts

While turkey may take centre stage, Cold Storage Christmas hams are another must-have classic for your dinner spread. The whole gammon bone-in ham (4kg, $89) is a traditional choice for most. The natural ham is cooked with a classic maple glaze for a glossy crust. For something a little out of the ordinary, try the orange juniper glazed bone-in ham (2.5kg, $70).

Fancy a beef dish? Try a crowd-pleasing classic like the ribeye roast beef with rosemary and garlic (1.3kg, $50) or the ribeye roast beef with Italian herbs (1.2kg, $50, halal); both excellent choices. Other roasted items include lamb, Spanish Iberico jumbo pork ribs, pork sausage snail and more.

#4 Hearty sides and entrees

Variety is essential for any Christmas feast – so make sure to offer options beyond turkey and roasts! The hearty, soul-warming beef ragout with mushroom, red wine sauce and mash potatoes (1.5kg, $49) is prepared bourguignon-style and has an earthy, savoury flavour. The baked mac and cheese with turkey ham (1kg, $29) is a creamy American classic that will be a hit with the kids. Another option is the pork tenderloin roulade in bacon wrap (700g, $39). The dish features cranberry-filled pork tenderloin wrapped with slow-roasted bacon. It’s also made with a variety of different pork cuts to bring out unique flavours in every bite.

#5 Wholesome meat-free Christmas dishes

Want to make your vegetarian or vegan guests feel more at home? Impossible Foods proves that you can have healthy, wholesome meals that are entirely meat-free. The Impossible mushroom pot pies with white cream sauce ($39.90) are a comforting addition to any Christmas spread. Also available is an Impossible plant-based deep-dish quiche ($39.90), which comes in a pack of four and features a robust blend of cheese, egg and Impossible ground beef within a buttery crust.

#6 Cheese and charcuterie platters for pre-dinner grazing

To ad the final touches to your Christmas feast, make sure you’ve got some light snacks for your guests to graze on. For that, nothing beats a cheese and charcuterie platter. The continental air-dried salami platter ($30) features a curated selection of cured meats including truffle salami, chorizo, coppa ham and black forest. Complete your board with a Mediterranean antipasti platter ($25); this platter includes red pepper dip, hummus, sun-dried tomatoes, stuffed olives and more. Each platter serves four to six guests.

#7 Christmas desserts

To end things on a sweet note, treat your guests to desserts like the Christmas chewy chocolate log cake (700g, $35) or the velvety Christmas raspberry cheesecake (1kg, $39). For something a little lighter, pick the vegan lemon zucchini pound cake (300g, $12) – it’s baked with fresh shredded zucchini. There’s also a gorgeous pear frangipane tart (1kg, $35) that pairs perfectly with an after-dinner tea.

#8 A range of Christmas party essentials

Beyond its Christmas offerings, Cold Storage has always had a stellar variety of party staples. The Vergani Classic Pandoro and the After Eight gift tins are excellent for after-dinner treats. The little ones can count down the days to Christmas with a Lindt teddy Advent calendar. There are also child-friendly gifts like the Christmas bears that are sure to delight the kids.

Cold Storage’s own brand Meadows will also have an expanded range of festive treats. If you’re a fan of their truffle chips, try other Meadows offerings like chocolate chip cookies, octagon nut gift box and the seashell chocolates.

Impress your guests with a fresh Christmas fir from Cold Storage

Instead of taking out that old and dusty plastic tree, why not add an actual festive fir to your home? This year, Cold Storage is offering fresh balsam firs with pre-orders available until 26 November. Available firs range from five to ten feet and start at $119. In addition to looking great, real firs have a delightful natural bouquet that’ll bring the festive spirit into your home. In-store purchases are also available.

Sort out your Christmas essentials at Cold Storage

Ready to plan your fuss-free holiday dinner? Cold Storage Christmas products often sell out fast, so place your orders early to secure your desired delivery date and time. Pre-orders for Christmas items close on 20 December. You can choose to self-collect or have them deliver straight to your doorstep from 1 to 25 December! Cold Storage Christmas specials come chilled and are vacuum-packed for freshness. Each item also has easy-to-follow reheating instructions on the product label.
