Bring the cinema to your home!

3rd September 2020 by Jo Upcraft 3 Min Read

If the pandemic has made you apprehensive about visiting the cinema, let the cinema experience come to you with the LUMOS Auro Home Cinema Short Throw Projector. (Popcorn not included…)

How to ace your home entertainment setup

COVID-19 has made us a nation of homebodies; and with social distancing measures still in place, many of us are staying in more than ever. Outside, life may have gone crazy, but inside our sanity is often saved by curling up in front of a film.

For this reason, most of us have been keen to make our home environment as comfortable as possible. Body-hugging sofa? Check. Biscuits within easy reach? Check. Projector screen that replicates a home cinema? Um …

That’s where the new LUMOS Auro Home Cinema Short Throw Projector comes in. Sleek and stylish with a matte finish and grey fabric front and back grill, it’s a discreet addition to your condo or HDB that brings the cinema experience to you. There are two versions: a regular version with an in-house interface; and a smart version, which runs on Android 6.0 OS, includes apps like Netflix, YouTube and Kodi, and can mirror up with an iPhone, Samsung and Android phone.

The best news? You need zero technological skills to install it; simply connect to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, dim the lights, choose your seat and you’re good to go.

Here are seven more reasons why we love LUMOS Auro:

#1 Size is everything

If your home is stuck for space, don’t worry a distance of three metres can get you a 100-inch projection.. The projector measures 31.3cm by 23.2cm by 10.4cm and weighs just 3kg. It isn’t bulky and fits perfectly on a flat-textured wall or screen for maximum viewing.

#2 Unbeatable sound

We don’t want you to annoy your neighbours, but be warned: the sound from this projector gives out in a way that others do not. It’s full, round and clear, with no need to connect to an external audio system such as Bluetooth speakers.

#3 Super sharp visuals

Projecting at 6000 lumens (the market average is 3000), you get an image that’s sharp, clear and vibrant. Visual clarity is excellent due to a Native FHD of 1080p, and the darker the room the better the picture quality. This doesn’t mean the kids have an excuse for movies at midnight – you still get stellar results in a semi-bright room as well.

#4 It’s good to share

Share the hilarious cat meme from your mum back home that’s stored on your smartphone via the inbuilt Airscreen app and MiraCast app. In return, your kids can supersize their TikTok content for you …

#5 Gaming gets better

Lumos Auro can be directly connected to game consoles such as Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox. Just plug in for a huge display and the chance to enjoy multiplayer games in full glory. Not a gaming geek? This is your chance to escape your family and enjoy a sneaky glass of wine in the kitchen (we won’t tell).

#6 Flexible viewing

Because one size doesn’t fit all, the device has been developed with different home designs in mind. Keystone Correction means you can adjust the projector to create a perfect rectangular flat image even if placed at an angle. Alternatively, use their RIZE adjustable stand to get the angle just right.

#7 Netflix and YouTube go large

The smart version of LUMOS Auro comes with built-in Netflix and YouTube so you can watch your favourite shows without the hassle of connecting an external device. This also means that all of those stunning, billion-dollar properties on Netflix’s Selling Sunset look even more impressive!

The LUMOS Auro projector is available from S$299. The smart version with Netflix, YouTube and Kodi is available from S$398. It comes with a 1 year local warranty.

Check out their reviews too, they’re getting five star ratings. It’s great to see a Singaporean brand coming up strong in this competitive market place!
