Four readers give us an insight into their serviced apartment accommodation, and why it’s been an ideal solution for their time in Singapore.

ST Residences had the best apartments that matched my current rental criteria. The whole rental process was easy, due to the efficiency of the staff. They were always on hand to answer my questions.
I’m living in a cosy one-bedroom apartment on Shenton Way. It has really high ceilings, which makes it feel spacious. The kitchen is connected to the living room and there is a cute dining table that fits six people. The kitchen itself is easy to use and has everything I need.
I love the huge window in the living room, which offers a really nice view towards the sea – it gets even more amazing by night.
The bedroom also has a very large window and allows in all the natural light from outside. There are two closets in the room that are more than enough to store all my clothes.
The amenities inside and around the building are pretty amazing. The pool is super big and the place is always clean and well maintained. There are plenty of trees and flowers, providing the impression of being in an oasis. At night, the pool is illuminated and is very impressive. I would highly recommend the ST Residences group – they also have other properties across Singapore.

We didn’t bring any furniture, linen or towels with us to Singapore; we needed to buy everything new. It was tempting because who doesn’t love to buy new furniture and decorate a house? But my husband and I measured the pros and cons of renting and buying all the things we needed versus a serviced apartment.
In the end, a serviced apartment suited us better. The convenience of it being fully furnished, with housekeeping services and even babysitters available was important to us.
We were recommended Fraser Suites in River Valley when we first arrived in Singapore. Since then, we have moved to Fraser Place Robertson Walk. I just adore the ambience here and I love meeting people from all over the world. The team run a lot of social events and they always remember my daughter’s birthday. It makes us feel really special. I also love the neighbourhood; I feel very at home!
We live in a three-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment. We have a very good living and dining room, a well-equipped kitchen, washer-dryer, two balconies and a storage room where we keep our travel bags and sporting equipment. The furniture is elegant and beautiful. I could live at Fraser Place – and in Singapore – forever!

I’ve lived in Singapore for approximately two and a half years. I choose to stay at the Parkroyal Serviced Suites Singapore mainly due to its flexibility and location. I travel often, so it’s a lot easier than renting an apartment – especially if you’re not too sure how long your tenure here will be. Plus, it avoids the unnecessary cost of having to buy furniture, linen, kitchen equipment and pay monthly utility bills for a frequently empty apartment!
I also like that I can come and go as I please, and not have to worry about anything. It gives me a sense of home as I’m far from my family in the Netherlands. The team here are always looking for ways to help their guests – even the housekeepers know exactly what I like without me asking!
My apartment is spacious and recently renovated. There is comfortable furniture and a large open, well-equipped kitchen. (I love to cook.) It includes an induction cooker, oven, microwave, pots, pans, plates and the whole range of cooking appliances. I also have a washing machine and dryer. There is one master bedroom with a comfortable king-sized bed, a bathroom with a bathtub, and another small bedroom with a single bed.
I also get to choose which side of the city to face. My favourite view is looking towards the National Stadium, the Singapore Flyer and the big swimming pool.
Parkroyal Serviced Suites offers value for money for a longterm serviced apartment in Singapore, plus it’s in a convenient location – close to the Bugis and Nicoll Highway MRT stations, and Suntec City mall. Arab Street and Haji Lane are also across the road – great for when family and friends come to visit.
A special shout out to everyone at the front desk who has assisted me for the past few years!

I’m in Singapore on a long-term assignment; I’ve lived here for four years and will stay another two before I return home to Boston. I wanted a place to feel like home; a hotel didn’t provide the cosiness of an apartment and also didn’t provide enough space for my clothes and belongings.
I chose Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Beach Road mainly for its location. It’s far enough away from the city and Orchard Road, but easy to access Clarke Quay and Marina Bay on the MRT.
I also like the idea of being walking distance to many restaurants. I have a one-bedroom unit with a small kitchen, dining table and a seating area where I can relax or work with a fantastic view of the Stadium and Singapore Flyer.
The unit also has two televisions; one in the bedroom and one in the seating area. The additional television is great; I can spend rainy weekend afternoons in bed watching movies! I don’t need a large kitchen, as I don’t cook every day. The unit has great closet and storage space for a single person.
The staff have made my stay very enjoyable. They have also gone out of their way to ensure my stay is pleasurable and very comfortable.
