Do you prefer your nails short, naturally pink and simply slicked with transparent polish? Outrageous colour, glitter or intricate nail art? Whatever your style is, nothing says well-groomed quite as beautifully as immaculate hands and feet. Here are our favourite nail salons for manicures and pedicures.
“Tucked in the busy (and massive) Suntec City Mall, this nail salon isn’t the easiest spot to navigate to, especially if it’s your first time visiting. A tip is to head to the West Atrium and ask the concierge for directions, which was what I did. Beaute Nails offers a much-needed respite with its luxurious furniture – spacious, plush armchairs to lean back on, coupled with velvet curtains to separate the booths for privacy – and relaxing nail-related services.
A signature here is the foot callus treatment ($38, a first-time trial price), which promises to remove dead skin and calluses to reveal smoother and softer feet. My therapist first applied a serum to the thicker areas of my feet, followed by a marque gel to hydrate and condition, then my feet were wrapped for around 20 minutes. I also opted for the organic gelish pedicure ($98, including soak-off), so she started to trim and file my toenails while waiting for the solutions to activate. After that, my dead skin was scraped off very quickly and easily; it felt ticklish but oddly satisfying! Then, I was treated to a peach foot and leg scrub, which smelled amazing and is suitable for sensitive skin. The pampering continued with a warm towel pressed on my feet, and the results of the treatment were revealed – my feet were visibly cleaner, smoother and brighter!”
