Project Citizens – The First Million: Stories of Singapore’s First Citizens

Launched as part of Singapore’s 60th year of independence, Project Citizens – The First Million is a year-long initiative by the Founders’ Memorial that celebrates the nation’s first generation of citizens, including those who received their pink ICs in 1966.

Through interactive pop-ups across the island, senior engagement programmes, and the Not Mere Spectators experience at the National Gallery Singapore (October 2025 to March 2026), the campaign explores what it means to be Singaporean and how citizenship was – and still is – a conscious, values-driven choice.
