Gateway Arts presents How To Be A Kid, Showing Families They Don’t Have To Grieve Alone
6 November @ 7:30 pm - 15 November @ 2:00 pm

Gateway Arts presents How To Be A Kid, an award-winning coming-of-age play about how a family learns to support one another through grief.
Written by Sarah McDonald-Hughes and localised for Singapore audiences by director Ian Loy, the tender and uplifting 60-minute production follows 12-year-old Molly as she becomes “Supergirl”! Witness Molly cooking, cleaning and caring for her grieving mother and six-year-old brother Joe after their grandmother’s death.
With humour and moments of adventure, the play explores how families can navigate difficult emotions together through communication. Recommended for children aged 7 to 12 and their parents and caregivers, each public performance includes a post-show discussion led by Singapore Children’s Society.
Families can also join “Leaning On Each Other”, an interactive parent-child workshop on 7 or 15 November, 3:15 pm to 4:15 pm, to explore emotions through dialogue, role play and drama games ($10 per pair with two show tickets; limited spaces).
