Dealing with unresolved chronic pain, wound recovery or post-stroke symptoms? We ask PRASOB KUMAR, Managing Director of BCR Therapie Singapore, for his opinions on the use of microcurrent-based BCR (biological cell regulation) therapy for pain management in Singapore – including renting it to use from the comfort of your home!
What exactly is biological cell regulation therapy and how can it help with your pain management in Singapore?
BCR is a cellular metabolic therapy system. Our cells metabolise nutrients in our blood into ATP (adenosine triphosphate). This process is vital for the healthy functioning of all living organisms. Injury, infection or inflammation can disrupt cell metabolism. These disruptions cause symptoms such as pain and can also inhibit the body’s self-repair capability.
BCR helps restore normal cell metabolism. This is based on the theory that bioelectrical measurements in the body are linked to the underlying pathology. The system reads impedance and automatically administers treatments based on biological feedback towards regulating the measurements. This then results in reducing pain and improving the body’s self-repair capability. This built-in bio-cybernetic system minimises human skill requirements, making results consistent and scalable.
BCR treatments are backed by evidence-based studies conforming to medical registration standards in Germany, where the system is developed and manufactured. It’s used for pain management in Singapore, post-stroke symptoms like paralysis, diabetic wounds, facial beauty, preventive healthcare and more. New programmes are still being developed, too.
What are some benefits of BCR compared to other similar therapies?
Many other treatment systems work on the gate control system of pain to block the pain signals from reaching the brain. They only offer temporary symptomatic relief. BCR alleviates pain by regulating cell metabolism; therefore, it’s a more holistic system working on the root cause of problems. Other treatments deliver physical stimulations that eventually trigger some metabolic reactions. BCR works directly at the cellular level, below our sensory level. It’s extremely safe, too, being among the rare treatments that can be administered directly into the brain.
What conditions and symptoms can this therapy system help with?
It helps with both acute and chronic pain conditions, paralysis, injuries, fractures, wound healing, wrinkles, face lifting and more.
How else can regulating cell metabolism help with our health and wellbeing?
A disruption to our body’s cell metabolism can cause various ailments. It’s important to appreciate the curative and preventive roles of regulating cell metabolism. Regulating cell metabolism helps the body self-heal; working on the root problem thus makes BCR applications wide and versatile. BCR also has built-in programmes for facial beauty, preventive wellness and anti-ageing. It can be an invaluable asset to health enthusiasts who are into “biohacking”, and as a mini-clinic in every home.
Who is the therapy not suitable for?
BCR is generally very safe to use. However, like all other electrotherapies, it is contraindicated for patients with pacemakers or those who are pregnant. BCR Therapie Singapore has just launched a therapy system that you can rent for home use.
Tell us more about it.
In most chronic conditions, there’s a need to repair the underlying problem first before the symptoms can go away. For this to happen, cell metabolism needs to be optimised long enough for the body’s self-repair to take place. Doing repetitive cumulative therapies at close intervals is the best way to achieve this; yet making all those visits to clinics can be challenging. With this in mind, we have developed a new model for pain management in Singapore that is small, portable and user-friendly and that you can use at home or work.
However, not all conditions require home rental. Most only require a few visits to our centre. Conditions that benefit from home rental include chronic pain conditions, post-stroke symptoms and problems caused by brain-related neurological disorders. This is because BCR has the ability to induce self-repair and is among the very rare treatments that can directly treat the brain. Post-stroke symptoms like paralysis as well as Parkinson’s disease, muscular dystrophy, severe spine problems like slipped discs and post-accident or post-surgery recoveries are cases that may benefit from home rental. A closer look at these ailments will show that there are few effective treatments for them in conventional medicine. Patients rarely fully recover and many continue to live with these ailments. Home rental provides maximum patient benefit and is an affordable method of pain management in Singapore.
Walk us through the process of using the at-home BCR therapy for pain management in Singapore. What can patients expect?
Patients should come to our BCR centre on North Bridge Road for a few sessions. If it’s deemed that the condition could benefit from repetitive cumulative therapies, it may be worthwhile to rent the system.
BCR is very user-friendly; it’s a plug-and-play system, like using a mobile phone. The display screen and the booklet explain the operations. The display screen also shows the treatment target and the treatment progress, which is something unique. We provide training for specific conditions, and telephone assistance will always be available.
What are the costs of rental?
At our centre, each hour-long session costs $120, and the same rate applies for daily rentals, with a minimum rental period of 10 days. That is $1,200 for 10 days. Most chronic pain problems should see substantial improvement in this period of 10 days. By having the system with you, you have the opportunity of treating as many times on as many conditions and patients as possible. This is a great opportunity to bring fast improvement to long-lasting chronic problems. Additionally, there is the opportunity to try out our anti-ageing preventive healthcare programmes.
