The Tadcaster Grilled Steak Sandwich recently made its debut at two pubs in Singapore – at The Exchange in Asia Square and Molly Malone’s Irish Pub on Circular Road.
But what is it that makes such a simple sandwich so delectable? According to the venues, it’s a “masterpiece of simple gastronomy” that brings together all of the classic elements, without trying to be quirky or different. Call it a back-to-basics approach that works to make a humble sandwich really stand out.
The secret to this steak sandwich
The Tadcaster Grilled Steak Sandwich was born from research and collaboration of the chefs from Tadcaster Hospitality. The focus of the sandwich is naturally on a generous helping of tender sirloin, balanced with mature cheddar and a sweet finish of caramelised onion. Additionally, crisp Romaine lettuce, tomato, pickles and mayonnaise all add their own texture and flavour. And the whole thing is held together by lightly toasted homemade sourdough bread.
According to the team, diners at both pubs in Singapore have been equally impressed by the Tadcaster Grilled Steak Sandwich, with some returning on a daily basis to get their next fix. Sounds like this will become a firm fixture on both of those menus. Look out for a roll-out at Tadcaster’s Café Melba outlets as well.
