This is unlike any other Indian cuisine in Singapore. It’s slow-cooked with natural herbs, no oil, not much onion or garlic, and no additives. And the flavours are amazing! The lamb curry is superb – it melts in your mouth. There’s also a vegetarian and a standard biriyani that are both fantastic. There are vegan feasts too, but whatever your preference is, don’t skip the desserts!
The recipes are inspired by a mix of street food and grandmothers’ favourites, and prepared in Kolkata Beckons’ state-of-the-art kitchen. It’s an eclectic mix of Bengali and Mughal food with European influences.
PS: My mum and I managed to dine at Kolkata Beckons just before more restrictions came in and it wowed us. And it takes a lot to wow my mother! Full review coming up later…
