Why you should stay at this Phuket resort

19th May 2022 by Lindsay Yap 2 Min Read

Heading back to Phuket but fancy something different? Go beyond the busier beaches and the bustling city for a getaway to COMO Point Yamu at Cape Yamu. Whether it’s for a family holiday or a couples’ retreat, the luxury resort has loads to offer. Here are five reasons why you should book a stay.

#1 Location, location, location

COMO Point Yamu Phang Nga Bay

The property is located at Cape Yamu, a beautiful peninsula on the east of the island. It’s easy to get there from the airport – a little over half an hour by car. Overlooking Phang Nga Bay, COMO Point Yamu is an ideal spot for anyone looking to escape the crowds. And it’s still close to Phuket town if you’re keen for a day trip.

#2 Pretty rooms to choose from

The resort’s rooms, suites and villas all come with amazing views of the surrounding bay. The brainchild of Italian designer Paola Navone, they’re contemporary and tastefully decorated in shades of blue and white.

If you fancy your own pool, there are plenty of rooms with that option. Part of a larger group? Pick one of the two- to four-bedroom villas, or Point Yamu Villa, which is spread across two floors, and comes with three bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and a terrace with an infinity pool. Or, you could splurge on a night in the COMO Pool Villa, a three-level four-bedroom villa that comes with a kitchen, small laundry and helper’s room.

#3 Fun activities for everyone

The resort has a daily schedule packed with a fun variety of things to do, from day trips (Phuket Old Town, ATV tours and even game fishing) to Muay Thai and cooking classes. To take advantage of the beautiful location, we recommend booking a cruise to enjoy the views during the golden glow of sunset.

If you’re travelling with young ones, they’re in for a treat! At Play by COMO, kids aged four to 12 are kept busy with interactive activities and games. In the mornings, they can enjoy free play, while the afternoons include fun sessions such as T-shirt designing, cupcake decorating and even Thai dancing.

#4 A private beach club for hanging out

In the mood for a party? Spend the day at COMO Beach Club on the nearby Naka Island. Relax in the loungers by the pool or chill at the restaurant and bar by the private beach. You can also try out some watersports, from kayaking and paddle boarding to windsurfing. Best of all, if you’re bringing the littlies with you, you won’t need to worry about finding them things to do, as there’s also a Play by COMO children’s activity centre on Naka.

#5 A spa for pampering sessions

COMO Point Yamu COMO Shambhala Treatment

The brand’s signature COMO Shambhala Retreat spa is known to most travel lovers, and is a feature of the COMO Point Yamu property too. Treatment rooms have great sea views, and you can look forward to traditional local therapies and Asian-inspired treatments, including Thai massages, herbal body scrubs and facials. While there, you can also sign up for Hatha yoga sessions.
