If you’re looking for fun and free outdoor activities in Singapore, a great option is to go scooting! There are plenty of gorgeous parks and open spaces to head to for a fun and safe outing with the family. If you’re not sure where to go scooting in Singapore, here are a couple of places to consider. (Safety tip: During your ride, remember to stick to the correct paths, keep within the speed limit and look out for others!)
Where to go scooting
#1 Marina Bay
For stunning city views, Marina Bay is the place to go. A scooting route around the bay takes in some key Singapore landmarks such as The Esplanade, The Merlion Park, Helix Bridge and Marina Bay Sands. If you get hungry or thirsty, there are venues galore for tasty snacks or a refreshing drink. And, if you’ve got time to spare, scoot over to Gardens by the Bay and Marina Barrage to enjoy some nature scenes.
#2 Singapore River
Enjoy a leisurely ride along the iconic river, zipping through areas such as Singapore’s popular quays: Boat Quay, Clarke Quay and Robertson Quay. There are shared pathways to scoot on and it’s a great route as you’ll pass by all kinds of restaurants and cafés that you can pop into to escape the heat.
#3 Sentosa
Keen for some island time? Take out your scooters and head to Sentosa for a fun outing! The island has loads of footpaths and cycling lanes so you can make your way around easily. Plus, instead of waiting for the monorail, bus or tram, you can get a good workout by scooting to the different beaches and attractions.
#4 East Coast Park
Another great place to go scooting in Singapore is East Coast Park. The popular seaside spot is always filled with people cycling, rollerblading, running and more; so you’ll be right at home on a scooter! The pathways are wide and great to scoot on as you take in the views of sand and sea. While you’re there, check out the many restaurants in the vicinity – and don’t forget to take the kids to the Marine Cove playground.
#5 Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park
This beautiful neighbourhood park has loads of pathways and bridges for you to go scooting on. Enjoy the picturesque green surrounds, take a stroll down to the calming river, and check out the fun playgrounds and dog runs. You can also drop in for a meal at one of the eateries; Grub, Canopy and McDonald’s are all nearby.
