10 things to do with the kids in Bali

5th October 2018 by Michaela Bisset 2 Min Read

Looking for a quick getaway with the family? Bali is often first on the list for those who are after some R&R in the sun. But there’s more to the island than you might imagine when it comes to activities that the kids (and you!) will love. Check out our list of fun family options.

1. Bali Butterfly Park

If your kids love nature, head to this park for a stroll through beautiful gardens and the chance to get up close to a variety of butterfly species native to Indonesia. You’ll also learn more about the life cycle of these creatures, making it a fun and educational experience for the kids. balibutterflypark.com

2. Upside Down World Bali

The kids will have a blast in the whacky rooms of this venue. Strike a pose and get one of the staff to snap a photo as you visit the kitchen, dining room, bedroom and more. You’re guaranteed to leave with some fun pictures for the family back home! facebook.com/UpsideDownWorldIndonesia

3. Waterbom Bali

Thrill-seekers will love a day out at this water theme park. Speed down the slides at the Twin Racers, swerve around corners at the Double Twist or slow things down with a leisurely float along the Lazy River. waterbom-bali.com

4. Bali Equestrian Centre

At this riding centre, little ones as young as three years can learn the basics of horse-riding. Kids can also choose to go on casual pony rides led by a guide, or there’s the option of horseback tours to a village and the beach. baliequestriancentre.com

5. Rip Curl School of Surf

Groom your little grom at this surfing school that offers classes for kids under 13 years. Your child will get one-on-one coaching and have the lessons adapted to their specific abilities — they’ll be riding Bali’s famous waves in no time!

6. Pirates Bay Bali

Be a pirate for the day at this themed café. Hang out on the pirate ship or head up to one of the treehouses and enjoy views of the beach, or put on an eye patch and headscarf and get ready for a treasure hunt adventure. thepiratesbaybali.com

7. DMZ Trick Art Museum Bali

This quirky museum boasts more than 120 illusions created by artists from Korea, with themes including Egyptian pyramids and fairytales such as Rapunzel. Kids will have fun navigating the selection of unique trick art and seeing the photographic results. dmzbali.com

8. Bali Treetop Adventure Park

Conquer your fears on various adventure courses including flying foxes, suspension bridges, trapezes, swings and more. The park offers circuits for all ages and abilities, even for children as young as four. balitreetop.com

9. Seawalker

Love the ocean? Take a walk on the seabed and check out marine life using the Seawalker. You won’t require a cumbersome oxygen tank, and there’s no need to breathe in a different way; just slip on the helmet and away you go. seawalker.co.id
