Shop online for your favourites – a review by Lia Slater
A few months ago, I found my holy grail lip product. I took it absolutely everywhere with me. It was my quick fix in the morning before stepping out the door, my essential companion to all my classes at school, every meet-up with friends, every long flight. This lip tint joined the ranks of my daily necessities, with my phone, keys and wallet.
After arriving back in Singapore after a long term at university in England, I was shocked to realise I’d run out of product! I scoured every shop, tried online websites, but nothing would ship to my address. Then I found Buy&Ship which specifically offers parcel forwarding and proxy shopping services, enabling access to products that are not usually sold or shipped to Singapore. Finally, I was reunited with my long lost, and gravely missed, lip tint!
While exploring Buy&Ship’s proxy services, I realised I could consolidate different orders from around the world to be sent to the Hong Kong central hub warehouse in one parcel, and then delivered to my address to help me save on international shipping costs. This was ideal for bulk-buying birthday presents, beauty products, supplements, and even tech devices. If you want to purchase products from regions such as Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, the US, the UK and Hong Kong but find it difficult to order yourself, you can leave it to Buy&Ship, let them communicate and negotiate with the seller and handle the international shipping. You’re also protected against the potential loss and damage of your orders.
On the topic of sourcing your favourite products internationally, certain websites (especially Japanese or Korean ones) don’t accept credit cards issued outside their country and often they need a local phone number for registration. All of these issues can be easily resolved with Buy&Ship’s proxy purchasing service.
Although the process is relatively simple and the shipping logistics are handled by Buy&Ship, ordering can be more time consuming than simply purchasing from a website that delivers directly to Singapore. It can take some hunting to find the product you’re looking for, for example. And you have to fill in detailed ‘item request’ forms and also wait for the proxy buying team to confirm or accept the order. But for those essential, must-have products, this offers a great service to connect you with goods from your home country, to be directly shipped to Singapore!
I also found Owala FreeSip water bottles – something I used to have and really missed. It’s leak-proof and so good in so many ways that I bought two!
