Unless you were pointed in the right direction by a good samaritan before you arrived in Singapore, it seems many of us ended up sobbing in our serviced apartments after viewing ‘family friendly’ condos with outdoor spaces that doubled as visitors’ car parks. So, we took to Facebook to ask our lovely readers what they’ve found to be the best condominiums for those with families. We’re talking vibey playgrounds, spacious living areas, rocking barbecue pits and, of course, location, location, location. Here goes…
Condos – East Coast and Northeast Singapore
“We’re totally settled at Hacienda on the East Coast at Siglap. Five-minute walk to shops and 10 minutes to East Coast Park. Kids play together every day in the condo pool, and there’s also a spacious playground and lawns. And we parents have regular get-togethers too – love it!” – Katie
“Pebble Bay Condo on the East Coast is the best! Great community, huge grounds, loads of kids to play and parents to hang out with. And nearby Tanjong Rhu MRT is opening right near it in June 2024″ – Vibrant Cuckoo
“Loyang Valley Condo has been our home for 10 years and having lived in other condos and a house more central, this one tops all the convenience of the East Coast for space both inside the units and outside. Beautiful gardens and an amazing pool. The best neighbourhood feel with a great community. Safe for kids to play outside.” – Ann Marie Santo
“The Trumps is just opposite the Kembangan MRT station with easy access to buses to the city. It’s also near a park for children and adults, and has easy access to international schools and to Changi Airport. The Frankel, Siglap, Katong area is surrounded by different bars and familiy-oriented restaurants, and shopping. East Coast Park is also accessible. We lived here for almost two years and are leaving now for a new country. Our landlord and our agent are the best!” – momliefie
“Parc Esta. Opposite Eunos MRT, it has a kids’ pool and lap pool, barbecue pits, tennis and basketball court, indoor and outdoor gym. It’s also near convenient stores like NTUC, 7Eleven and Watsons.” – Esther Chin
Condos in Mid and Central Singapore
“Soleil in Novena: nice pool, convenient for grocery shopping, the MRT and a food court” – Annika Harloff
“Amaranda Gardens, Serangoon. Lorong Chuan MRT is 300 metres away and the Australian, Stamford, French and British schools all nearby. My daughter personally has no less than 25 friends living in the condo at any one time to play with. Amazing neighbours who celebrate holidays and Sundays out at the barbecue pits with cocktails and an abundance of food every week. Oops, I spilled the beans… Shhh!” – Sarah
“Ardmore Park.” – Miriam Esparza Long
“The Shelford, Bukit Timah is accessible via Tan Kah Kee or Botanic Garden MRT, close to many good schools and opposite Coronation Plaza (via Dunearn Road access) for daily/weekly needs. Also, the jogging track at Botanic Gardens is nearby, and nice food at Adam Road Food Centre” – Novi Cahyadi
“I love the area we’re in now, Watten Estate. It has two great playgrounds, a lovely row of restaurants and shops on Greenwood Avenue, and is a 15-minute walk to Botanic Gardens MRT. We live in a cluster house called Watten Hill, which means we get the best of both worlds: facilities and stairs!” – Amy
“Astrid Meadows.” – Ana
“Chelsea Gardens was fab. It was a good size condo with four bedrooms, helper room/wet area and also a back balcony for the helper. And only a 10-minute walk to Orchard” – Amanda
“We loved the low-key, low-density feel of The Tresor. Great pool (with a kids’ pool that gets shade all afternoon) yet it feels like a boutique hotel when we’re sat out with a glass of wine after the kids go to bed. Just a long enough walk to wear the kids out if you go to the shops at the end of the road, the NTUC or the Starbucks at Coronation Plaza. And obviously close enough to the bars of Greenwood Avenue if you need wine to recover from the day. Or Holland Village, or Dempsey, or…” – Don
“RiverGate on Robertson Quay.” – Somi Hariri
Condos in South and Southwest Singapore
“Reflections at Keppel Bay.” – Petro Castle
“The Interlace has good amenities and is near to Hort Park.” – Cynthia Lagarto
“As an ‘ex’-expat who left in 2014, I had to consider bus stops and MRT stations (no car). We loved Westpoint Condominium – the landlord owns the whole block so any issues with aircons and so on get sorted by his staff. There’s also a great pool, gym, tennis court, playground, underground parking, 24-hour security etc. It’s just opposite Pasir Panjang MRT, with a bus stop on the corner, close to VivoCity and easy public transport to international schools and near Holland Village.” – Bernice Clarke
“The Coast at Sentosa Cove.” – Dorthe Sorensen
