We review the brand new face treatment EMFACE!

15th March 2023 by Georgina Hockley 4 Min Read

I’ve always got an ear out for the newest face treatments! So, when Mendis Aesthetics offered a trial of the new kid on the block, EMFACE, I said yes please. This mini face lift device offers a full face treatment for skin and muscle and is pain-free! Here’s what I thought of the experience.

EMFACE Mendis Aesthetics face treatment

EMFACE at Mendis Aesthetics

EMFACE is a non-invasive treatment that simultaneously treats facial skin and muscles. This face treatment was released in Singapore this month (after the US and Hong Kong). It is the first and only needle-free procedure that can treat facial skin and muscles in a 20-minute session.

The main aim of EMFACE is to reduce wrinkles and provide a mini face lift for the skin. It’s a completely safe procedure and addresses problem areas on the forehead, eyebrows, cheeks and jawline. What’s getting people excited is the prospect of achieving less saggy, droopy skin without pain or downtime. Sounds good to us!

Targeting the signs of ageing

EMFACE is an innovative procedure that offers a dual-pronged approach to address the signs of ageing. First, it triggers the production of collagen and elastin that cause the appearance of wrinkles. Second, EMFACE tightens your facial muscles that lose their strength as time passes and become lax. Improving skin quality and muscle tone, EMFACE helps the face restore the volume and elasticity lost as we age.

The science behind EMFACE

EMFACE is the first face lift device to use both Synchronized Radio Frequency (SyncRF) and HIFES. Sync RF energy remodels and smooths skin by heating the dermis and increasing the levels of collagen and elastin. Simultaneously, the HIFES technology restores and elevates support of facial tissues by selectively contracting muscles and increasing density and quality of muscle structure. It emits thousands of pulses per session. Together the two energies reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and tone and stimulate facial muscles. The result is a more firm, lifted face.

Who is this face treatment suitable for?

EMFACE is suitable for men and women who want a natural-looking face lift. Everybody can benefit from less wrinkles and more lift. It’s perfect for those with a fear of needles (or scalpels!), and anyone who isn’t willing to undergo any pain for beauty. I must admit, this was the appeal for me (yes, I’m a bit of a scaredy cat). The only variable is that you may require more sessions as you enter your senior years to achieve the same outcome.

My EMFACE review

On entering Mendis Aesthetics at Mandarin Gallery, I had an assessment with the lovely Dr Rohan Mendis. He explained how EMFACE works and recommended four treatments, two to seven days apart. As I was due to go on holiday in a few weeks, I opted to schedule the appointments over a one-and-a-half week period.

Once settled in the dimly lit treatment room, a small patch was applied to my lower back (to conduct the electromagnetic pulses) and pads to each cheek and forehead. Apart from a quick cleanse with micellar water and an alcohol swab, no numbing gel was required. The pads were then connected to the face lift device.

The initial feeling was a little weird, so for the first few minutes the device was adjusted to 80% capacity. Once I became used to the sensation of the muscle contractions, I was comfortable to increase to 100%. The best thing is that I felt absolutely no pain – in fact, it made me giggle a little!

The 20 minutes passed very quickly, and after removal of the pads it was a nice touch that the therapist put on some light sun cream (as I’m always out and about).

After each EMFACE treatment

This mini face lift device requires zero downtime. I walked out of the clinic after each treatment looking and feeling entirely normal. There was no redness or outward sign I’d had anything done. Internally, the muscles in my face felt fatigued – clearly they had been working out under the surface! My forehead and cheeks already felt a little lifted.

The long-term effect of this face-lift device

After completing all four treatments, my skin is rejuvenated, smooth and more youthful. I can honestly say that my muscles feel more defined and toned. The overall appearance of my face is firmer with less saggy skin in the jowl and naso-labial fold area. I have a tendency towards a rounder face, and it seems a little narrower. Interestingly, the lifted eye seems to have led to less wrinkles on my forehead when I raise my eyebrows (goodbye, Botox!).

I’m amazed and very happy with the experience and the result. (Just ask my friends; I may have been waxing lyrical to them!) I’m also looking forward to seeing how my face progresses in the coming weeks, as the peak effects will show by the four- to six-week mark. The procedure typically lasts for around a year, when I can go back for a top-up treatment.

The cost of one EMFACE treatment is $1,200.
