Beyond its name, the Swiss Club is open to all nationalities; families are welcome at this social club in Singapore, too. Surrounded by lush greenery, it’s a spot where you can come for a casual meal, to play sport or to socialise in one of the many activities and events available to members.
The Club’s general manager AARON LIM gives us more details. (Plus, read on for a special promotion for new membership promotions!)
Who is the Swiss Club for?
We’re a social club that has grown over the years to be a family-friendly club where children can roam around and be close to nature. With our quality facilities, our members can participate in the activities of their choice, whether it’s for leisure or competition.
What can Swiss Club members look forward to?
We offer a variety of social and recreational facilities for the whole family. Members can enjoy a large leisure pool surrounded by century-old trees, two large playgrounds for children, five grass tennis courts, a padel court, a multi-purpose court, a football pitch, a sports hall, and a newly renovated gym and studio.
We also offer a co-working space and elegant function rooms to accommodate anything from a business meeting to a birthday party or a wedding. Families can even stay the night here at our very own Swiss Club Guesthouse.
We have various culinary options from alfresco fine dining at Arbenz and international cuisine at Pergola to casual bites at the Jungle Cove by the pool. Private events can be held at the historic Rife Lounge or in an elegant function room at the Pavilion.
What are some of the popular activities among members and their families?
Our members like tennis – all the courts are newly refurbished – and playing padel. Swimming in the leisure pool, movie nights on the weekends and monthly quiz nights for adults are also popular. For the kids, there are art workshops such as decorating Easter eggs and painting bear bricks. Families also like Glamping in the Club, which we organise.
Pergola is a popular dining spot for members and their families; it serves a wide variety of international cuisines alongside Swiss dishes.
What are some memorable events that have happened at the Club?
We’ve celebrated several weddings of club members over the years. Our newly renovated function rooms at the Pavilion are receiving bookings for more this year.
The Swiss Club holds three major events annually. We held Summerfest in June; it’s a big carnival and we saw more than 500 people this year. On 6 August we will have celebrations for Swiss National Day and are expecting 600 people. Lastly, from 14 to 18 September we have Oktoberfest, which is the 21st time that our social club is holding it. It’s the most authentic Oktoberfest celebrations in Singapore and we see about 2,500 people attending each night.
Where can you be found at the club?
I’m usually about the club, greeting members and getting to know them better. This helps me to understand how the Swiss Club can constantly provide members the best service that our social club can offer and also ensure that their needs are met.
My favourite thing is seeing the satisfaction on members’ faces after an event or after a good meal at our restaurants.
