Singapore’s top 9 lunch spots

Are you stuck in a ‘lunch rut’ – always heading back to the same places and never deviating from your usual dishes? Give your quick sandwich or local hawker a rest with fab new lunch menus, great value lunchtime deals and all-round beautiful spots to enjoy a midday meal or afternoon tea… here are our 9 current favourites!

Stellar at 1-Altitude

One of the hottest lunch tables in town is Stellar at 1-Altitude, Singapore’s highest restaurant at 62 floors up with spectacular 360-degree views. “For lunch I prefer to focus on clean, simple flavours with an always changing selection of dishes using the best ingredients of the season,” says Executive Chef Christopher Millar.

Chef Millar’s award-winning cuisine is most evident in his gastronomic lunch menu, featuring five courses of seasonal selections like the Loch Fyne Salmon Tartare, a beautifully braised Japanese Wagyu Rib Eye and a delicate Vanilla Blancmange to top it off.

End your meal on a sweet note at the luscious dessert buffet loaded with amazing creations by Pastry Chef Jasmin Chew, which features a live station for liquid nitrogen ice cream, crispy waffles, or silky crepés with toppings. As Stellar is one of only three KRUG Champagne Ambassade restaurants in Singapore, a chilled glass of bubbles is almost mandatory.

Top Tip: Come early to score one of the window seats (first-come, first-seated) which have dreamy views over Marina Bay or the CBD.

3-Course: $48++, 4-Course: $58++ | Gastronomic 5-Course: $95++ | Monday to Friday (except Public Holidays) 12pm to 2pm

Bella Italia Pizza and Pasta robertson quay set lunch
Fancy Italian? Try Robertson Quay’s Bella Pizza or Bella Pasta’s great value and delicious set lunch menu.

Bella Pizza & Bella Pasta

These two popular sister eateries at Robertson Quay offer delicious weekday set lunches at great value; a 3-course set lunch plus coffee and tea is priced at just $20++ with plenty of variety to allow for repeat visits.

At Bella Pizza, which is widely regarded as having the best pizzas in Robertson Quay, we spiced things up with a delicious chilli and salami Pizza Diavola, and were surprised (and delighted) to be served a 12” pizza as a main dish, which, unusually for a set menu deal, is the same size as the a la carte pizzas.

At Bella Pasta two doors down, the mains centre on pastas like Cavatelli – the little pasta shells that look like miniature hot dog buns – with proscuitto and spinach or puttanesca with home made spaghetti, though there is always a meat or fish main for non-carb eaters.

Top Tip: Their set lunch menus change bi-monthly so be sure to check ahead online, and (yippee) gluten-free pasta is available.

The Coffee Academics
Enjoy the deliciously-curated menu at Coffee Academics

The Coffee Academics

Coffee aficionados will love the menu at The Coffee Academics, curated from areas of the world rich in coffee history – an assortment of finely designed dishes inspired by the owners’ travels around the world, and are best accompanied by a specialty coffee.

The Mediterranean seafood salad is inspired by the Mediterranean seas, the primary source of coffee export to Europe in the 17th century, while the blue corn nachos and the crispy fish fillet tacos – with a deliciously fresh mango salsa topped with a zesty citrus sauce – hail from Mexico, the world’s 8th largest location for coffee production.

Each dish tells a charming story of the joy and sense of community that comes from great coffee and shared plates– definitely worth a visit!
