Stressed about moving in Singapore?

30th September 2022 by Rebecca Bisset 2 Min Read

https://expatliving.sg/moving-in-singapore-movers-sir-move-checklist/

Moving home is possibly one of life’s hardest tasks. The thought of planning, packing and unpacking can be overwhelming. Don’t you wish it could all be over in the blink of an eye? For moving in Singapore SIR Move has all the tools to make it as easy as possible. In fact, you won’t even have to be there.

Having moved house more times than I can count, I can safely say that it just gets harder. Put it down to age or plain exhaustion but there are boxes we haven’t bothered to unpack from seven years ago. It is very likely that I failed the Marie Kondo test and that whatever is in those boxes no longer “sparks joy”.

There are numerous Singapore movers, but who will you trust with furniture and art collected over the years, or with your beloved pets?

Use an award-winning mover

Unless you own your own property, chances are you’re moving in Singapore every two to four years as rents go up. SIR Move have all your concerns in their sights, from domestic to international moves, deploying an award-winning solution, plus a raft of services you didn’t even think you’d need.

If you’re moving in Singapore, your journey begins with an in-person location survey, or you could send a video of your home or office and the contents that need to be moved.

After booking your move, book your MovePrep, a complimentary hand-holding service. This is available for both individual and corporate household moves, whether you’re moving domestically or across the world.

Get a free moving-in-Singapore checklist

These Singapore movers have a MoveStarterKit, a step-by-step guide that will keep you on track for the 90 days leading up to the big day. It has checklists taking you through the weeks and includes lists for important documents to pack, right down to what items you will need for the children on their first night in their new home. Print it off and thank us later. It is free on the SIR Move website, along with numerous helpful blogs to buoy you along.

More help

They can also help get your precious pets across the world. MovePet has all the know-how to advise on restrictions and documentations needed to get animals home safely. If they’re too old or sick to travel, your service representative can make alternative arrangements.

Also in the fleet of services is the MoveDetox, a welcome programme to help new arrivals settle in. MoveConcierge and MoveButler services are completely customisable and available on an hourly or ad-hoc basis so you’re supported for as long as needed. The service is invaluable for information on schools, homes, supermarkets, or simply a listening ear in a new land.

MoveButler will even pack and unpack for you so that your work schedule is not disrupted and everything is in its place when you come home. No suitcase is left unturned – SIR Move will even help you to donate unwanted clothing and furniture.

Moving house can be daunting, but it can also be an exciting start to something new. Why not treat yourself to a full-service professional move so that you can enjoy the event and all its possibilities?

SIR Move is a qualified FIDI/FAIM Quality Mover and a recognised FIDI/FAIM Top Performer.
