Story Walk – Roving Storytelling Experience
24 January @ 5:00 pm - 25 January @ 8:30 pm
$15After its successful introduction in 2023, Story Walk is back this year as part of Singapore Art Week as well as VERSE literary arts festival.
This outdoor storytelling experience integrates Benchmarks, the public art bench installations by the Singapore River. Participants will be able to explore the precinct as literary arts, history and folklore come together.
Taking cues from three commissioned public art benches, each storyteller will share a unique tale, weaving local history with folklore, remembered fondly. These tales bring to light the interconnectedness between the bench artworks, their surroundings and the rich heritage of the district.
Walking route:
Meet at Esplanade Concert Hall, Level 1. The walk will take you from the Esplanade Waterfront to Esplanade Park then to Queen Elizabeth Walk and back to The Arts House.
Back at The Arts House, complete the journey by exploring your own creativity through a diorama-making activity. Grace your mini gardens with a variety of pebbles and moss and take home your very own imagined landscape.
The walks are from 5pm to 6.30pm and 7pm to 830pm on 24 and 25 January. Tickets are $15 per person. The activity is recommended for ages 15 years and above.
