Altered States: Experiments in Moving Image
16 November - 15 December
Discover the world of experimental film at Altered States: Experiments in Moving Image, opening on 16 November at the ArtScience Museum. This exhibition features a mix of local and international artists who explore innovative filmmaking techniques using everyday materials, ecological processes and cameraless techniques.
At the core of the exhibition are four striking film pieces by artists from around the world, including artist duo Nicky Assmann and Joris Strijbos from the Netherlands, Youki Hirakawa from Japan, Sapphire Goss from the UK, and Singapore’s own Toh Hun Ping. Visitors can expect installations like freezing soap bubbles in the sub-Arctic to the accelerated burning of candles, all inviting visitors to discover a fresh perspective on how moving images can bridge art and science.
The exhibition runs until 15 December.
