If you’ve ever gone shopping for bras in Singapore, you’ll know how limited the options can feel when it comes to bra sizes. That’s why we’re so excited about Supporting Eve, a newly opened body-inclusive lingerie boutique at Cluny Court. We caught up with founder and expat Caroline Warren to learn more about her story and vision of creating pieces that make women feel empowered and confident, no matter their shape or size!
Can you tell us about your background and where you’re from?
Hi, I’m Caroline, half British and half German, and I’ve spent much of my life balancing a busy career and family. Before starting Supporting Eve, I worked in aviation, travel and renewable energy. Moving to Singapore brought new opportunities – and challenges – that ultimately inspired me to venture into something I’m deeply passionate about.
Tell us about your body-inclusive lingerie boutique in Singapore?
The idea for Supporting Eve came from my personal breast health issue and struggles of finding well-fitting bras in Singapore, especially as someone with a smaller band size and larger cup. I was frustrated with the lack of options, inconsistent fittings and the need to shop overseas for what I needed. I realised so many women here face similar challenges, and I wanted to create a space where everyone can feel confident, comfortable and celebrated.
Where did the name Supporting Eve come from?
The name reflects our mission to provide physical, emotional and mental support to women through expertly fitted, well-fitting lingerie. It draws inspiration from Eve, often regarded as “the first woman”, symbolising a fresh start and new beginnings. This concept aligns with our philosophy of helping women build a strong foundation, starting with the perfect-fitting bra.
Just as a well-fitted bra enhances comfort, confidence and support, Supporting Eve aims to empower women at every stage of life, celebrating their unique shapes and sizes. Our approach is all about uplifting women – both literally and metaphorically – creating a space where they feel seen, supported and confident from the inside out.
Congratulations on Supporting Eve’s first boutique at Cluny Court! What can customers expect there?
Thank you! At Cluny Court, customers can expect a warm, welcoming environment designed to make lingerie shopping a comfortable and enjoyable experience. We proudly carry world-renowned brands like Freya, Fantasie, Panache, Louisa Bracq and more, offering a broad range of body-inclusive sizes from 28 to 44 bands and A to K cups. If your bra size or style isn’t in stock, we’re happy to place an order just for you.
How are these bras in Singapore measured and fitted at Supporting Eve?
Our boutique specialises in expert fit-by-sight bra fittings – no measuring tape required. Traditional measuring methods are often outdated and inconsistent, failing to account for unique factors like breast shape, volume, placement, density and body posture. Sizing standards also vary across brands, making visual fittings a more accurate and personalised approach to achieving the perfect fit. Last year, I trained in the UK to refine this technique, ensuring every customer receives the best care and support.
Whether you’re shopping for everyday essentials, something special or the perfect sports bra, we offer personalised consultations to help every woman feel confident, comfortable and supported. Supporting Eve is here to redefine lingerie shopping in Singapore!
Why is it so important for women to find the right bra size? What are some common mistakes people make and do you have any tips?
A well-fitting bra is crucial for a woman’s comfort, posture and overall confidence. Research reveals that about 80 percent of women wear the wrong bra size! This often arises due to several factors: a lack of knowledge about how to wear a bra correctly, limited size availability, fast fashion options that prioritise style over long-lasting support, and body changes caused by age, pregnancy, weight fluctuations and hormonal shifts. Additionally, access to proper bra fittings is often limited.
An ill-fitting bra can result in discomfort, poor posture and even back or breast pain. Common mistakes include selecting a band size that’s too loose, a cup size that’s too small or relying on outdated measuring methods like tape, which don’t consider unique factors such as breast shape, density and placement.
Many women also continue wearing the same bra size for years without acknowledging how their body may have changed. Ideally, bras should be replaced every six months for optimal support. It’s also important not to get fixated on the size label – comfort and fit are key. A well-fitted bra provides essential support, enhances your silhouette and boosts confidence, ensuring you feel as good as you look.
Start by getting a professional fitting. You might be surprised by how much of a difference it makes. Focus on comfort first; a well-fitted bra should feel like it’s barely there. Don’t be afraid to try different styles or materials, and remember that confidence often starts with the right foundation. You deserve to feel amazing in what you wear every day.
Body-inclusive fashion is a bigger topic now. What does it mean to you personally?
To me, body inclusivity means celebrating all shapes, sizes and life stages. It’s about recognising that every woman’s body is unique and deserves to be supported – not judged. Supporting Eve is built on this value, ensuring that no one feels excluded, whether they’re shopping for smaller bands, larger cups or something in between.
What has been the most rewarding part of your entrepreneurial journey so far? What about the most challenging?
The most rewarding part has been hearing from customers who finally feel seen and supported. There’s nothing better than knowing you’ve made a positive difference in someone’s life. The most challenging part has been navigating the learning curve of retail, from delayed stock to balancing size ranges. But every challenge has been a valuable lesson.
What does a typical workday look like for you?
No two days are the same! I might start with a team meeting, help customers with fittings, work on curating new collections or placing individual orders. There’s always something to juggle, whether it’s planning events, updating our website or brainstorming new ways to connect with our community.
What are a few things you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
When I’m not at the boutique, I love spending time with my husband and two girls, exploring Singapore’s food scene, and unwinding with a good book or a walk with the dog. As an aviation geek, travel is also a big passion of mine. It’s where I get a lot of inspiration!
What’s next for Supporting Eve?
We’re excited to continue growing our community and expanding our body inclusive offerings to meet the unique needs of our customers. Upcoming plans include hosting events to educate women about bra fitting and breast health, as well as special mother-and-daughter sessions for first bra and teen fittings. We’re also looking to support breast cancer awareness initiatives and introduce specialised bras in Singapore to cater to specific needs.
At Supporting Eve, our journey doesn’t stop here. Our mission is to evolve with our customers, ensuring we provide the support, comfort and confidence they deserve at every stage of life. Stay tuned – there’s so much more to come!
