Adventures of Grumpy Cat by Yip Yew Chong

Grumpy Cat is welcome visitors to The Fullerton Hotel Singapore in the Adventures of Grumpy Cat exhibition by Yip Yew Chong. Running from 16 June to 30 August 2026, 10am to 9pm daily, at the East Garden Gallery, this is the artist’s most whimsical and light-hearted exhibition to date.
30 original Grumpy Cat paintings
The exhibition features 30 original paintings centred on the beloved feline known for his signature grumpy expression that charmingly contrasts with its curious, light-hearted personality. From enjoying local favourites such as Laksa, Kueh and Chilli Crab to wandering through familiar neighbourhoods, waterfront settings and playful local scenes, the collection captures the humour, charm and quiet poetry of daily life.
Photo spots
Visitors can pose for photos with Grumpy Cat at various interactive photo spots at the East Garden Gallery. One highlight is the ‘Grumpitiam’, inspired by Singapore’s beloved local coffee shop, featuring familiar local favourites such as Kopi, Kaya Toast and Chicken Rice.
Colouring corner for young visitors
A dedicated colouring corner invites families to explore their creativity with Grumpy Cat. Young visitors will be provided with specially designed colouring templates and materials to create their own interpretations of the beloved feline. The activity will run from 24 to 26 June 2026, from 1p, to 4pm
Live painting session by Yip Yew Chong
Visitors can catch a glimpse of Yip Yew Chong’s creative process through a live painting session held on 18 July 2026 from 2pm to 5pm, where he artist will paint a new Grumpy Cat (Fullerton Edition) artwork inspired by the hotel and its waterfront surroundings. Visitors are invited to interact with the artist as they witness the artwork come to life.
About Yip Yew Chong
Yip Yew Chong is a Singaporean visual artist who practises murals, canvas paintings, digital art and installations. A self-learning artist, Yew Chong draws inspirations from his own childhood and everyday life experiences, telling stories of people and places, especially of yesteryear, on walls and canvases. He started painting murals in 2015 as a hobby while pursuing his career as an accountant. In response to the recognition he received, he became a full-time artist in 2018. Since then, Yew Chong has painted over 50 murals in various parts of Singapore such as Chinatown, Tiong Bahru, and Kampong Glam, over 20 murals overseas, and held 3 solo exhibitions.
