What’s on stage in Singapore: Live music, theatre and dance to get stuck into this December?

Christmas wrapped up in one muscular package

Nothing says Christmas more than The Nutcracker and the sweet adventures of Clara and her magical nutcracker doll. Young and old alike will delight in the beauty of classical ballet as the talented performers from Singapore Dance Theatre dance to Tchaikovsky’s timeless music. Esplanade Theatre from 4 to– 8 December. Tickets from Sistic.

The notorious Ting Tong Belles join a rolel call of talented Singaporean performers for a night of singing, dancing, jokes and skits. This is a festive show with a decidedly local twist ithat’s sure to be a riot of fun. Crazy Christmas runs from 11 to– 22 December at the Esplanade Theatre. Do note, if you plan to take kids, that he R18 shows are at 6pm and 8pm and family-friendly shows are at 2pm and 4pm. Tickets from Sistic.

HIi-5 are is set to rock the pre-school set for three days only with an energetic show, Hi-5 House Party, full of fun games and non-stop songs. Everyone can boogie and show off their dance moves. 20 to – 22 December. Marina Bay Sands. Get tickets here.


Faithful to Victor Hugo’s classic novel Notre Dame de Paris, this musical spectacular tells the emotionally charged story of the unfortunate Notre Dame de Paris Cathedral bell- ringer, the hunchback Quasimodo, and his hopeless devotion to the beautiful gypsy Esmeralda. See it at Marina Bay Sands, Grand Theatre from 17 December. Get tickets here.

Over 200 singers led by Singapore Lyric Opera Children’s Choir will raise the roof with memorable Christmas tunes sung in English, French, Italian and Spanish. The concert on 7 December 7 is at the Esplanade Concert Hall at 7.30 pm. Tickets from $20 from Sistic.

FRINGE FESTIVAL SINGAPORE – (8 to 19 January 2014)
