Camp Asia, the Godfathers of kids’ holiday camps here in Singapore, have just announced some brilliant news (for both lively little ones and their exhausted parents!). From early 2015, they will be expanding to offer a Saturday Sports programme for children aged three to sixteen.
The exciting new programme will cover eight sports: baseball, basketball, cheerleading, soccer, swimming, tennis, golf and judo.
We’re talking state-of-the-art facilities too – sporty kids will be coached at Stamford American International School, which has three swimming pools, two indoor sports arenas (no rained-off matches here!), tennis courts, dance studios, sports fields and more.
Each sport will be divided into eight-week seasons throughout the year, with the first wave of Saturday sessions officially kicking off in February 2015.
However – and this is the best bit – Camp Asia will be hosting free trials for all children on Saturday 24 January and Sunday 25 January 2015. This will give your little un’s the chance to meet the coaches, try the different sports, discover their level and generally decide whether the Saturday Sports programme is for them.
The free trials are also an opportunity for parents to check out the super-snazzy facilities, chat to the organisers and feel assured that Camp Asia is a safe, motivating environment for energetic boys and girls.
Speaking of parents (oh yes, it’s not just about the young ones, you know!), Camp Asia’s Saturday Sports Programme will also include a Parent Café. Run by local celebrity chef Emmanuel Stroobant, the café will be a sanctuary filled with tasty treats and free wifi for us oldies to enjoy while the kids tire themselves out.
Fancy signing up for a free trial with Saturday Sports on Saturday 24 January or Sunday 25 January 2015? You bet! All you have to do is head to Camp Asia’s nifty new website and fill out the oh-so-easy booking form.
