SUMMARY:Scaredy Kat Presents: Gateway Arts Theatre Production
DESCRIPTION:Through this inspiring theatre production by Gateway Arts\, meet 11-year-old Kathryn who deals with panic attacks and bullying by focusing on being an aspiring stop-motion filmmaker – with big ideas and even bigger dreams. \nThe problem is\, the figurines she’s building for her movie project keep falling apart — just like her confidence. A world-class over-thinker\, she’s a “scaredy Kat” who keeps the world at length to protect herself. Until her new schoolmate Nadia\, who is bold\, artsy\, and everything Kathryn is seemingly not\, joins her in making the stop-motion film even better. Can Kathryn brace herself to give this friendship a chance? \nGateway Arts\, who brought to stage the successful 12 Going on 13\, Brainstorm\, and Third Man Syndrome\, produces this imaginative and emotionally honest play\, inviting young audiences and families — and anyone who’s ever been afraid — to embrace fear\, celebrate mistakes\, and find the confidence to spread their wings

SUMMARY:Sensible SEO & AI Strategy Workshop
DESCRIPTION:We are hearing more than ever about AI\, SEO\, search rankings and online visibility – but much of the advice feels overwhelming\, contradictory or far too technical. What do you actually need to know now? What still matters? And where should you focus your time if you want people to find your business online? \nPresented by Elizabeth Taylor from Spotlight Marketing Academy\, this workshop is designed to cut through the noise. In plain English\, she will look at how online visibility works today\, where AI fits into the picture\, what still matters for search and discoverability\, and what small businesses can do to improve their online presence without chasing every new trend. \nThe workshop will explore practical priorities such as clear website messaging\, useful content\, search-friendly language\, trust signals and sensible use of AI tools. Elizabeth will also look at the common mistakes businesses make when relying too heavily on generic AI content or trying to ‘hack’ SEO without a clear strategy. \nThis is not a technical masterclass. It is a practical session to help small business owners understand the landscape\, make better decisions and take realistic next steps. \nDates: 26 May\nTime: 9.30am to 11.30am\nVenue: Hollandse Club\nPrice: $38 per person including coffee or tea \n\n \n \n "*" indicates required fields \n \n \n NameThis field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.Name*\n \n \n SalutationMr.Ms.\n \n Prefix\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n Email*\n \n Mobile*Newsletter Opt-in\n \n Keep me up to date by emailing me Expat Living newsletters\n \n \n I am interested in receiving kids and family news too\n \n \n Allow speaker/partner to contact me\n PriceQuantity*Total\n \n Payment\nThis payment is secured by Stripe.Payment Method\n This field is hidden when viewing the formEvent TitleThis field is hidden when viewing the formEvent DateThis field is hidden when viewing the formEvent TimeThis field is hidden when viewing the formEvent PlaceThis field is hidden when viewing the formSourceThis field is hidden when viewing the formCountry

SUMMARY:Timeless Resonance: Maestro Jaap van Zweden & HIMARI
DESCRIPTION:The Evergreen Symphony Orchestra’s (ESO) 2026 international tour begins with a single performance at Esplanade Concert Hall. Led by world-renowned conductor and orchestra builder\, Maestro Jaap van Zweden\, Timeless Resonance features internationally acclaimed Japanese violin prodigy\, HIMARI. \nBorn in 2011\, HIMARI has been described as a once-in-a-generation talent. She has captured the attention of the classical music world with incredible technique\, playful and imaginative interpretations and emotional depth. \nThe performance opens with Sibelius’s Violin Concerto in D minor – a work celebrated for its symphonic depth that captures the evocative\, icy temperament of the Scandinavian peninsula. The second half of Timeless Resonance features an exploration of Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 5. \nAbout ESO \nESO was founded in 2002 under the auspices of the Chang Yung-fa Foundation. With a mandate – rooted in Taiwan and open to the world – of employing and training outstanding musical talent\, the ESO’s mission is to offer excellent classical music experiences to a broad public. \nIn 2001\, the Chang Yung-fa Foundation invited musicians and eminent international arts consultants to help form the Evergreen Orchestra. Initially starting with 20 members\, before expanding into a full symphony orchestra of more than 80 members. \nOver the years\, ESO has worked with international musicians including the Three Tenors\, José Carreras\, Plácido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti; conductor Helmuth Rilling; tenor Andrea Bocelli; sopranos Renée Fleming\, Angela Gheorghiu and Sarah Brightman; violinist Cho-liang Lin\, Yu-chien Tseng and Mayuko Kamio; violist Hsin-yun Huang; cellist Wen-sinn Yang; and pianists Lang Lang\, Robert Levin and Ching-yun Hu.
