Got a tale of hilarity, high-jinx or heart-warming goodness that you would like to share with other readers? Submit it for inclusion in Expat Living’s 2011 Travel Guide – one of our most popular annual guides.
The Piece: Send a personal story from 150 to 300 words in length (maximum three stories per person).
The Purpose: Tell us about interesting, unique or quirky experiences that you enjoyed on a recent holiday. Tell us a tale we haven’t heard before – whether it be a new twist on an otherwise tried-and-true spot or a location that veers off the beaten path.
We want to hear about volunteering at an elephant reserve in Thailand, midnight bowling in Luang Prabang, sipping tea in a Kyoto ryokan and savouring the best meal of your life in Hanoi. Give readers a little flavour of the place you visited, inform them of what to see and what to avoid. Send us stories of tropical bliss and tales of travel gone awry – it happens!
The Pictures: Include a photograph or two (high resolution, if possible).
The Places: We are looking for travel stories on Australia, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, the Maldives, Myanmar, New Zealand, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam.
The Prize: The top contribution will receive a special prize when the 2011 Travel Guide is published in April.
Please bear in mind that while we cannot offer payment, if we print your submission, you will be given full credit with a byline above your piece.
The deadline is Friday, 25 February.
Please send your submission to email@example.com
