The ultimate guide to spas in Singapore

Working 9-5 non-stop, or perhaps you’ve been burning the midnight oil? Feeling exhausted after running around too much after the kids? Or perhaps you’re a sports-a-holic with tight muscles after all that training. Whatever the reason (or the excuse!) tell hubby you’re clocking off for the afternoon, have the little ones looked after and indulge in an afternoon of pampering with a soothing massage or a refreshing facial – you’ve earned it beautiful!

Have your tensed shoulders massaged by magical hands

Healing Touch

Indulge in the:

Touch Thermalift ($340 for full face treatment) and Deep Tissue Massage ($55 for 60 minutes)

The experience:

With multiple locations across the island, Healing Touch is a convenient spot to visit if you’re in need of some me-time. Suffering from uneven skin? The Touch Thermalift, a clever combination of dermal stamping and radio frequency, is a non-surgical treatment that results in firmer and well-toned skin over time. Fractional radiofrequency energy interacts with the tissue to produce a thermal change causing a controlled thermal damage, which encourage the collagen fibers to contract without overheating. This then creates a “trauma”, activating the natural wound-healing response in our skin which compels our cells to produce new collagen and elastin. As this new collagen is stimulated, it causes immediate and long term skin tightening.

Winding down:

While you’re at it, why not indulge also in a full body massage? It’s best for those with chronic aches in contracted areas like the upper back, or if you’re suffering from a stiff neck or shoulders. The pressure applied is slower and movements are deeper, concentrating on any areas of tension and pain.

The welcoming interiors at My Cozy Room

My Cozy Room Boutique Spa

Indulge in the:

My Signature 4-in-1 Body Spa Indulgence ($99 for 75 minutes for first timers, usual price $168) and My Signature Customised Facial ($88 for first timers, usual price $188)

The experience:

Located in the heart of the city, this boutique spa offers a welcome break from the daily grind with its luxe interior and cosy setting. Opt for an indulgent body spa, which begins with a refreshing back scrub to exfoliate and remove dead skin cells, excess oils and impurities. Following that, you’re treated to a soothing lava hot stone back therapy, where warm Hawaiian lava hot stones are strategically placed to soothe a stiff neck, back or sore muscles. Next, the session is followed by a customised full body massage. It all concludes with a revitalising crystal eye massage, which refreshes and de-puffs those peepers as ice crystal glaciers are rolled in the direction of the lymph outflow.

Winding Down:

My Cozy Room’s Signature Customised Facial is a must-try for a clearer, brighter complexion. Common skin issues such as acne, congestion, sensitivity, dullness and dryness are targeted with the specific treatments offered here – it’s definitely not a one-size-fits-all treatment! Did we also mention that the spa is well-known for its almost painless extractions? They’re so gentle and meticulous, and leave virtually no redness or bumps post facial. Using Germany’s No. 1 professional skincare brand BABOR, this session takes around 90 to 120 minutes depending on your skin condition, so it’s the great opportunity to kick back and relax.

Relaxing and unwinding is the order of the day

Damai Spa

Indulge in the:

ESPA Deep Muscle Massage with Hot Stone (90 minutes) $250

The experience:

“Damai” means “peace” in Malay and Indonesian language, and this is reflected in the feeling of tranquillity that envelops you on entering the Grand Hyatt’s very elegant spa. There are eleven spacious spa rooms, each equipped with a private bathroom. First you’re wrapped in a soft robe, then seated in a massage area where your feet are bathed in warm water. After breathing in a range of signature scents from the ESPA range, you get to choose your favourite one for the session ahead!

The hot stone massage begins with a calming back massage, then the stones are introduced and the heat is instantly soothing. With long massage strokes, the muscles absorb the heat of the stones and the effect is deeply penetrating.

The treatment is tailored to focus on the areas where you carry the most tension, After the whole body is massaged, the stones are left to rest while you’re treated to a scalp massage.

Winding down:

Enjoy a cup of hot ginger tea in the treatment room after the session.

St Gregory Spa

Indulge in the:

CACI (pronounced “KC”) non-surgical face lift ($220 for 60 minutes)

The experience:

The spa starts with an initial cleanse with Elemis products, followed by the application of cooling collagen gel to moisturise. The metal roller balls on the end deliver a fine electric current to the skin, moving from the décolletage and up to the neck in repeated motions, along the neckline, then along the lines from mouth to nose.

Next, the area around the eyes is targeted, then the forehead, along the hairline and into the hair. While the experience is not entirely calming, with slightly more uncomfortable pressure to start, you’ll relax into it and after a while it’ll feel like a firm massage for the skin.

Winding down:

Here’s what our sales manager has to say:

“My skin was slightly red and puffy but firmer and definitely brighter. It felt warm and somehow activated, the pleasant tingling feeling continued for a few hours. The skin on my neck was tighter, and the finer lines significantly plumped up. Dark circles under my eyes were a little reduced and my strange combination skin felt smoother and evenly moisturized.”

What follows after is the facial, which starts with cleansing and toning, followed by a skin analysis and evaluation. The highlight of it all is the mask, a unique liquid-activated concoction exclusively used only for Dior facial treatments. This magical mask wraps and cocoons the face, making the cheeks less puffy and jawline slimmer.
