Looking for a moisturiser that’s best for this climate? The EL team test-drives four new products so you don’t have to – read on for the lowdown!
Rock & Herb Tropical Magic Enzyme Rescue, $92
“Packed with super ingredients like vitamins C and E, papain (from papayas), bromelain (from pineapples) and hyaluronic acid, this non-comedogenic moisturiser helps to exfoliate, regulate oil, prevent scars and repair acne. After using it every day for two months, I’m happy to report that it has now become a staple in my skincare regime.
The cream spreads onto the skin easily and absorbs well without leaving any stickiness. It has a light and fruity scent, which I really enjoy. My sensitive and acne-prone skin seems to have taken a liking to the moisturiser, too, which is rare considering how most hydrating creams tend to clog my pores. I’ve also noticed my complexion looking less oily at the end of the day, especially when I use the Enzyme Rescue in the morning. Score!
A little goes a long way and you get a generous amount of product in each jar, so I think it’s totally worth the buy.” – Anthia Chng
Tarte Baba Bomb Moisturizer, $65
“I’ve always had a hard time finding a moisturiser that showed results without my skin breaking out. But with this cream, I may have just found the one! The pump dispenses the perfect amount for each use. I love how it doesn’t have much of a scent to it and only a thin layer is sufficient.
When I use it at night, I wake up with glowy and plump skin in the morning. I’m guessing it’s the green tea, avocado and babassu ingredients working their magic! Within a week of use, my skin feels more hydrated. I’m also pleased that it has helped to even out my skin tone a little. I’ll definitely be repurchasing it!” – Siti Shahirah
Marc Jacobs Beauty Youthquake Hydra-Full Retexturizing Gel Crème, $78
“Recently, I’ve made a conscious effort to add more fruit to my daily routine: half a grapefruit with breakfast for a healthy gut, and for my skin, this new product from Marc Jacobs Beauty.
Packed with antioxidant-rich extracts of pineapple, starfruit and dragonfruit, this tropical cocktail not only smells great but keeps my skin hydrated and healthy. The consistency is light and airy for morning and night use, and the encapsulated sodium hyaluronate also helps smoothen my skin for that perfect pre-makeup base.” – Leanda Rathmell
Saturday Skin Waterfall Glacier Water Cream, $49
“This lightweight gel moisturiser contains Iceland moss, which hydrates while reducing redness – exactly what I need for my oily, sensitive skin. I apply it every morning, and only a small amount is needed for the entire face.
After a month of using it, I find that it hydrates and refreshes my skin without clogging the pores. I no longer need a mattifying lotion to counteract my oily skin, too. I’m hoping to grab this again once it’s finished!” – Hana Kamal
