From Botanic Gardens to Duxton Hill, East Coast Park to Haji Lane, we’re spoilt for choice in Singapore when it comes to gorgeous, tropical backdrops for family photo shoots. So how to choose which location is right for you and yours? We’ve roped in the pros from award-winning photography studio Littleones Photography to give us the lowdown on the best spots for families with children of all ages, from newborns and toddlers, to tweens and teens.
It’s timely too, with Mother’s Day just around the corner – on 10 May. We know mum’s heart will melt faster than ice cream at midday on Sentosa when presented with timeless shots of her precious brood, so take note, Dads; EL has negotiated a brilliant offer from Littleones Photography for a family photo shoot (location or studio) for only $250 until 30 May 2015.
Tuck the voucher into a handmade card and let the kids give it to mum with breakfast in bed come Mother’s Day or, better still, book an appointment with Littleones Photography ahead of time, round up the family for a few hours in front of the camera and then give mum an album, canvas or frame of her favourite snaps on 10 May itself.
Established in London in 2005, Littleones Photography has been based in Singapore (lucky us!) for nearly eight years and run by sisters Kate and Emily Griffiths, Creative Directors and photographer extraordinaires behind the brand, with a passion for modern photography and over 10 years’ experience in luxury children’s and family portraiture across the world, plus a collective heap of qualifications on top of that – an Associate Level certificate by the Master Photographers Association, the British Institute of Professional Photographers and the Royal Photographic Society.
Littleones Photography has been voted Best Family Photographer in Singapore for three years running (2012-2014) by Singapore Tatler, and it’s not hard to see why. Whether Kate and Emily are on a maternity shoot, photographing young children or the whole Brady bunch, her professionalism and warm manner puts children (and adults!) at ease, allowing her to capture real emotion and take beautifully candid shots.
Of course, you don’t have to head off to a location for great shots when Littleones’ spacious shophouse studio in Joo Chiat is on hand, with a lovely play area meaning parents can sip a cup of coffee while the tots take a breather from the lens. Here, Kate and Emily are able to take their signature black and white photographs and you can pop outside for a few alfresco shots if you fancy – the shophouse next door has a beautiful blue door which is perfect for giving your pics’ that Singapore stamp. Plus, children’s furniture store Ni-Night is just downstairs, and more than worthy of a peek.
Photo shoot wrapped, you’ll be called back in a few weeks for a personalised viewing appointment to check out your snaps (prepare to get misty-eyed!) and choose from a wide range of hand-finished products for your home or office desk.
Sold, Dads? Then all that’s left is to print off your voucher and get in touch with the Littleones Photography team to book an appointment for a location or studio shoot – and maybe practice your Blue Steel in the meantime!
