It can be so difficult to squeeze in all the extra-curricular activities we’ve earmarked for Junior during term time (without burning out both parent and child, that is!) Thank goodness then for the brilliant variety of holiday camps on offer in Singapore.
Back in session during June and July 2016, the Aureus Academy’s Summer Camp 2016 offers a multi-day programme and gives budding musicians from the ages of 5 to 15 the chance to try their hand at a wide selection of musical instruments (think piano, violin, guitar, voice, cello, clarinet, electric drums, trumpet and ukelele), hone musical skills, learn musical jargon and performance etiquette, and even practice how to bow properly in front of an audience.
1. State-of-the art facilities
Aureus Academy’s premises in Forum the Shopping Mall on Orchard Road pack in a 7-seat concert hall and 16 bright studios equipped with brand-new instruments, music stands, chairs and desks. Imagine the self-confidence boost when mini maestros take to the stage for classes and activities during Aureus Academy’s camps!
2. Top-class teachers
With a team of 30 passionate full-time and highly qualified instrumental teachers, who’ve undergone the rigorous Aureus Academy training process and hold at least a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a performing arts university, you can be assured that your child will be getting both personal and professional attention.
In fact, the quality of the teaching is something that stands out most for Sarah B, mum of two boys who take guitar and piano lessons at Aureus Academy. “My two sons attended the Spring Camp with their friends and they loved it! They were able to try new instruments, learn from talented and inspirational teachers, play and have lots of fun. Thanks Aureus team.”
3. A wide variety of musical activities to choose from
Whether your child is already taking music lessons or is totally new to music sheets, Aureus Academy’s Summer Camp 2016 will match both their age and ability. Campers can choose from interactive lessons, including an Instrument a Day where students get to select an instrument to try out for the day, Studio Masterclass which focuses on stage etiquette and solo performances, and fun sessions with Kodaly and Orff specialists (aka some of the best-known and well-recognized pedagogical methods) revolving around rhythm, beats, percussion instruments and plenty of music in motion.
Mum Michelle O has only positive feedback to share of her daughter’s Aureus Camp experience. “My girls Entinne and Esabelle (aged 6 and 4) loved the Spring Camp. They especially enjoyed the Instrument a Day segment where they tried the cello and guitar, and requested to sign up for lessons after the camp. The camp is great for children to broaden their knowledge of musical instruments and has a very fun vibe to it.”
Want to give your child a taster of Aureus Academy’s respected musical method?
