Mothers do so much for their families and children. So it’s only fair that they might expect their partners and kids to appreciate them in the ways they like, right? Speaking of which, we trust that you spoiled your mothers – or the mums of your children – on Mother’s Day this year! Maple Bear Preschool in Singapore used this opportunity to remind mothers to count their little blessings and remember that motherhood itself is a gift.
Maple Bear Preschool decided to empower the mothers of its preschool students this year. Through a social media campaign around Mother’s Day, mothers were encouraged t0 be a light for themselves and for other mums. The preschool in Singapore started the campaign with stories from Maple Bear parents Melissa, Sherlyn and Jerilyn, who shared their thoughts about the precious gift of motherhood. You can see their posts below.
More Maple Bear Preschool mums with motherhood stories
The preschool hoped that mothers everywhere would see these stories and be reminded of the gift of motherhood. And that’s exactly what happened. Many of the school’s mums came forward with their encouraging stories, which they shared at #MothersDaywithMapleBear.
One such mum, Patsy Lim, said, “I had a lot of joy creating the post, with wonderful pictures of my daughter, and sharing my memory and story of what it means to be a mother.” Other mothers of this preschool in Singapore like Xu Si Hui and Cindy Sim shared how grateful they were for the opportunity to reminisce about their growing-up moments.
In fact, a common theme amongst the stories was a mum realising that her child is only little once. So, despite the hard moments, it’s important to remember and enjoy every single moment, as they are fleeting.
Out of more than 100 posts, 10 mothers were chosen to enjoy a professional photography session with their children and the photograph was a lovely memento for them.
You can scroll through more of the stories here; the Maple Bear Preschool team hopes that they serve as a reminder to everyone that you’re not alone on the journey of motherhood. They would like to add a special thanks to Charlotte Puxley Flowers for the beautiful floral backdrop, and A Greener Wood who dressed the children in their clothing line.
