We’re always on the lookout for fun things to do in Singapore with the family. Popular Thai restaurant Tamarind Hill has a couple of upcoming events that fit the bill nicely. This month, you can look forward to an exciting brunch celebration for Songkran – water fight included! – while in May there’s an exclusive rum dinner as part of the World Gourmet Summit Series 2019.
Celebrating Songkran 2019
Ring in the Thai New Year with this fun-filled fiesta for the family. An indulgent buffet spread will feature over 25 handpicked dishes traditionally enjoyed by Thai people during the festival. Look forward to live stations with khao chae (“soaked rice”) with options like shrimp paste balls and Thai-style beef jerky, a live grill offering meats such as lemongrass chicken, a wok station serving pad Thai and tom yam fried rice, and a buffet line with the likes of green papaya salad and stir-fried minced chicken with basil. There are sweet treats, too – we’re eyeing the ubiquitous mango sticky rice. To top it all off, free-flow beer is included.
Plus, true to traditional Songkran celebrations, kids and adults can take part in a water fight, scheduled for 1.30pm. Join in the fun and cool off at the same time; top up $15 for a water gun and bucket set!
When: 14 April, 11.30am to 3pm
How much: $70 per person from now till 7 April, and $78 from 8 to 14 April.
