Dreamy bridal gowns for the special day? Or how about a tailored cocktail number that fits you like a glove? We’re all for ooh-ing and aah-ing over gorgeous frocks – which is pretty much all we did when we visited Singapore-based boutique The Proposal – a mecca of fabulous dresses by internationally renowned designers for gala events, balls, weddings and more.
Whether you’re a bride-to-be, wedding guest or simply on the lookout for a luxe evening dress, multi-label boutique The Proposal is the perfect pit-stop. It houses a range of designers from Canada, Israel, the UK, Italy, Spain, Australia and China – including names such as Ines Di Santo, Galia Lahav, Peter Langner and Paolo Sebastian, all of which showcase a wonderful mix of both traditional and contemporary details.
The team behind The Proposal are super passionate about getting your dress just right for the big occasion. So much so in fact, that one of the founders even enrolled and completed a short bespoke fitting course at the renowned London College of Fashion, UAL London to gain an even better insight into the tailoring of a perfect gown.
For Asian ladies (or perhaps you’re an expat seeking out a more oriental-inspired design!) The Proposal even offers the elegant traditional tea dresses, Cheongsam and Kua, by established Shanghai designer labels that use the highest quality of craftsmanship and fabric choices. Service is made-to-measure, of course.
Currently on our radar? The exquisite offerings from Australian label Paolo Sebastian. At the tender age of just 25, designer Paul Vasileff has been compared to Elie Saab and Zuhair Murad, and has dressed a star-studded range of A-listers including actress Li Bingbing, TV host Giuliana Rancic, songwriter Jhené Aiko and the momager herself, Kris Jenner. Just check out these ethereal campaign shots of both his bridal and eveningwear creations below.
