Botox in Singapore is a popular and accessible facial treatment that can combat signs of ageing. How does Botox work? It’s not only used for reducing wrinkles, but also for minimising pores, sculpting jawlines, reshaping noses and even slimming calves! Below, we ask some Singapore aesthetic clinics about their minimally invasive injectables, wrinkle relaxers and Botox.
Though their immediately obvious remodelling and rejuvenation effects may not last forever, these treatments can have subtle longer-term benefits. For instance, they can prevent fine lines from deepening into wrinkles, restore lost volume in the forehead, temples and cheeks, and promote youthful collagen synthesis.
The Belle Clinic
Baby Botox and microfillers
Baby Botox is defined as small doses of neuromodulators injected into multiple areas, in comparison to “traditional Botox”. By customising this advanced technique, The Belle Clinic prevents the infamous frozen forehead look, producing a smoother, fresher, younger but natural-looking face. It also works as a great preventative treatment for younger patients who want to prevent the kind of muscle over-activity that can cause early wrinkling.
How about microfillers? Fillers are traditionally injected beneath the surface of the skin to fill deep creases and lines. To prevent over-filling that can result in the dreaded chipmunk cheeks and sausage lips, Dr Maybelle Tan uses them judiciously to create a more subtle effect. Small amounts can smooth and hydrate the skin, improving fine lines, brightening a dull appearance and hydrating a crepey texture. They also work to support sagging and lax soft tissue, providing a subtly lifted, rejuvenated appearance, as opposed to a filled, volumised look.
For this reason, they’re extremely effective in treating early signs of ageing, as well as imperfections such as acne scars, poor skin texture, dehydrated skin and more. This is also the perfect way to refresh the skin by improving its moisture content.
The Belle Clinic uses both fillers and neuromodulators in a three-dimensional approach to rejuvenation. Micro-injections suit anyone who wants to look refreshed and rejuvenated, and not like they’ve obviously had something done. “It’s an art form combining different modalities to achieve each patient’s aesthetic goal,” says Dr Maybelle.

Dr Yvonne Goh Aesthetics
The Wrinkle Whisperer
Looking good has come a long way from the early days of fillers and wrinkle relaxers. Now, it’s all about looking younger and fresher while keeping it natural.
The aim is not to be completely unlined and wrinkle-free – it’s to present the best possible version of ourselves in an age-appropriate way. This calls for a combination of prevention and treatment, says Dr Yvonne Goh.
Treatment involves smoothing existing lines with wrinkle relaxers or fillers. Botulinum toxin works wonders on crow’s feet, lines around the lips, and of course frown lines. In addition to slimming down the face for a better facial contour, botulinum toxin also has a great effect on relaxing the platysmal bands of the neck, reversing their ageing effects on the neck and reducing the downward pull of these platysmal muscles on your jawline, thereby improving jawline definition. For prevention, she advises doing it earlier rather than later, before wrinkles have a chance to deepen.
Having been Singapore’s Wrinkle Whisperer for a good many years, Dr Yvonne sees no need to overdo wrinkle relaxers and kill expression, nor to overfill lines and lips. “Instead, we want to make wrinkles just fade away and our skin to look firm and toned without anyone knowing we’ve had work done.”
Besides the obvious plumping effects of filler on the laugh lines, it can be used:
- under the eyes, filling up the tear troughs, reducing dark circles and lines and concealing eyebags;
- on the nose bridge, to reshape the nose bridge for a more elegant profile;
- to enhance the cheeks for a more chiselled and uplifted look;
- for the lips, to add hydration, definition and a subtle touch of fullness;
- to strengthen a weak chin, balancing the profile, and
- for jawline definition by creating a stronger jawline.
Customised treatments for Dr Yvonne’s patients involve a combination of wrinkle relaxers, strategic augmentation with fillers in the right areas and overall skin tightening and texture improvement. The aim is to soften lines and replace volume, returning tautness and vitality to the face. Results of fillers are immediate and last a year or more.

Dr KW Chan Clinic
Here’s to younger-looking skin!
Dr KW Chan Clinic offers a range of FDA-approved injectables including dermal fillers and botulinum toxin to help reduce the signs of ageing and help you achieve a younger-looking visage. Be it to restore volume or to reduce the appearance of frown lines and wrinkles, your treatment will be customised just for you with a thorough consultation with Dr Chan, with natural-looking results in mind.
Dermal fillers, often made from hyaluronic acid which is a naturally occurring substance in the body, can help to smooth out wrinkles and add volume to the face that is commonly lost due to age as our body’s collagen stores deplete. Dermal fillers can also enhance features such as the nose, lips and chin to improve facial proportions. The results are instantaneous, with little to no downtime.
Botulinum toxin, on the other hand, uses a neurotoxin to temporarily paralyse the muscles that cause wrinkles. If you have visible deep lines, even when your face is at rest, you can benefit from this treatment. It can also be used to slim the lower jaw, particularly for females who would like to achieve a more V-shaped jawline. This treatment is safe and effective and should only be performed by experienced medical professionals. There is little to no downtime, and it typically takes five to seven days to see results.

Cutis Medical Laser Clinics
Making cosmetic injectables part of your anti-ageing strategy
Certain skincare products may improve fine lines, but do little to nothing for visible folds, creases and skin laxity. That’s where cosmetic injectables come in.
Fine lines and wrinkles making you look sad or angry? Botulinum toxin blocks the signal from a nerve to a muscle, temporarily weakening (by paralysing) the muscle responsible for those wrinkles. It can improve moderate to severe forehead lines, frown lines between the brows, and crows’ feet. Results last for three to four months, after which you can have touch-up treatments.
To restore lost volume and recontour the face, Cutis uses dermal fillers composed of hyaluronic acid (HA) and calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA). Both can help correct folds and creases, as well as enhance your features and natural beauty.
Available in varying consistencies, HA fillers are used to treat signs of ageing. They can enhance the size, shape, and symmetry of the lips, soften lines and wrinkles, volumise the face, and contour the facial shape.
CaHA fillers, on the other hand, are used to correct volume loss and moderate-to-severe facial lines, folds and wrinkles. They can also be used to sculpt the face to improve its contours.
Bio-remodelling is a “beneath the skin injectable moisturiser” that restores hydration, improves laxity, and addresses signs of ageing without changing your facial features. It bio-remodels the skin by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin. It can give the face, décolletage, arms and hands a firmer, more luminous appearance. Improvements seen after two sessions will continue over two to three months. They’ll usually last for up to six months.

W Aesthetics Plastic Surgery
Effective and natural-looking injectables
Wrinkle relaxers and fillers are two of the commonest non-invasive treatments performed today. Botulinum toxin relaxes tense facial muscles, whereas fillers work by providing volume replacement or even augmentation for areas of the face that have deflated with age. Dr Wong Chin Ho of W Aesthetic Plastic Surgery works to harness the full potential of both treatments at the same time to deliver effective and natural-looking facial rejuvenation.
At W Aesthetic, the use of these modalities is viewed as an art; with considered application, a range of desired effects may be achieved. For example, a wrinkle relaxer can be used to lift the brow by selectively relaxing the muscles that bring the brow down while leaving the muscle that elevates the brow active. Additionally, it may be used to slim the lower face by relaxing the muscle that has become slightly prominent from too-vigorous chewing or clenching of the jaw. This last application is also very useful for patients who grind their teeth in their sleep.
The use of fillers has advanced way beyond the filling of wrinkles or skin creases. Today, they can be used to augment areas of the facial skeleton that are weak in order to support and project the tissues more selectively to achieve more beautiful facial contours – for example, in the nose, cheeks or chin. The fillers used by Dr Wong are based on hyaluronic acid, a molecule found naturally in our bodies. It’s safe and can be digested by the body over time.

Ellansé collagen-stimulating filler
What is Ellansé?
Ellansé is a collagen-stimulating filler that provides immediate and long-lasting results, explains Dr Bernard Tan. It’s used to reverse facial ageing and improve loose skin by restoring collagen and volume that has been lost due to the ageing process. In particular, it’s ideal for lifting and sculpting areas such as the forehead, temples, cheeks, nasolabial folds and chin. Well-established throughout Europe and Asia, it has been gaining popularity in recent years – especially in the Chinese market.
How does Ellansé work?
Ellansé contains 30 percent polycaprolactone (PCL) microspheres suspended in a 70 percent carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) gel carrier. The CMC gel provides an immediate but short-lived (eight to 12 weeks) volume restoration of the treated area, while the PCL microspheres break down over the next eight to 12 weeks to stimulate collagen production, providing a natural improvement in facial volume and skin quality that lasts from one to four years.
Who is Ellansé suitable for?
Clients who wish to look more like their younger selves by reversing age-related facial volume loss and skin laxity. According to Dr Bernard, it’s ideal for someone who has previously had hyaluronic acid fillers, loved the result, and is now considering a longer-lasting treatment.
What does Ellansé cost?
For full-face rejuvenation, typical clients in their late 30s or 40s will need four to eight syringes. Each syringe contains 1cc of product and costs from $1,200. That said, the treatment is highly customised to the individual after a detailed consultation.

Profhilo and Rejuran injectables
Profhilo is an anti-ageing skin injectable treatment that delivers hyaluronic acid to all the layers of the skin, providing it with excellent hydration. It also triggers natural collagen and elastin production to improve skin elasticity. Due to its smooth consistency, it spreads out evenly within the skin layers without causing any lumps.
The face, neck, décolletage (chest) and hands are the places where you can use Profhilo to firm, tighten and lift skin with minimal pain and downtime.
Rejuran, on the other hand, combats issues such as dark under-eye circles, enlarged pores, skin sagging, skin dullness, fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars and stretch marks. It does this by biologically increasing the metabolic activity of skin cells known as fibroblasts, stimulating them to regenerate key components of the skin.
During your session, numbing cream is applied and left for 20 minutes. Next, a fine needle is used to administer tiny amounts of Rejuran Healer under the skin. It can take up to four weeks to see initial results, but you should definitely notice gradual improvements in skin elasticity, hydration and texture.

What treatment pairs well with Botox?
Botox is great for correcting dynamic wrinkles, and it complements some of the energy-based devices we use to smoothen wrinkles and textural issues on the skin. These include non-ablative fractional lasers like our Picoway and Picosure hybrid fractional laser treatment, which are great for working on fine wrinkles and textural irregularities, as well as ablative fractional lasers such as our fractional CO2 laser resurfacing.
Botox pairs well our Ultherapy treatment (high-intensity focused ultrasound) and Exilis radiofrequency treatments. Both are non-invasive procedures that aid the body’s tissue repair process and stimulate the production of new collagen. This creates a natural lifting effect. As anti-ageing is multi-directional and multi-planar, we believe in a multi-modality approach, which is better than just doing Botox for anti-ageing.
What should I do before and after a Botox session?
I typically ask patients not to lie face down for a massage for a few hours after. I also ask them to avoid going into a sauna or steam room. But other than that, there really aren’t many restrictions with regard to lifestyle. There can be some minor bruising in certain locations, so I usually ask patients to cut back on non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs) and alcohol for a few days before and after a Botox session to prevent that from happening. Then again, the needles we use for Botox are so fine that bruising doesn’t happen often.
How much does Botox cost at your clinic?
We charge Botox based on the type of indication, such as for treating crow’s feet or forehead wrinkles. We don’t vary our charges based on the absolute amount used. That’s why we always include a touch-up session for the patient without extra charge, so we can tweak the amount to the best effect. Prices start from $250.
