Sunset at 1770 in Noosa, Australia: Your chance to buy a magical beach house in this award-winning eco-development

Updated on 25th November 2016 by Catherine Willingham |

Sunrise at 1770 is an incredibly unique, award winning eco-development in Australia that you simply have to have a good stare at to believe. The unspoilt, low-impact neighbourhood is in Noosa along the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, with residents enjoying spectacular nature on their doorstep. How do you like the sound of enjoying your morning coffee over a dose of whale watching? Very much? You’ll be chuffed to discover that one of Sunrise at 1770’s coastal homes is currently on the market. Read on for more about this special community, plus Red Rock Beach House, which is up for sale by one very reluctant owner.

The view of Red Rock Beach House from its huge, private beach. Amazing

Sunrise at 1770
Each of the homes in this private, gated estate have prime spots on the beachfront, with oh-so-easy access to the sand and an incredible stretch of ocean. We’re not just talking fishing and surfing (at any one of six beaches), but the Great Barrier Reef is under 90 minutes away by boat for world-class diving and snorkelling.

The beach itself runs for 4km along Sunrise at 1770, with James Bond-style sheltered coves dotted along the way. Nature reserves adjoin the estate on all sides, with protected wetlands, estuaries and rainforests setting the scene for idyllic walks around your home.

Two ocean-side clubs are at the heart of Sunrise’s social gatherings, allowing neighbours to get together and enjoy the inclusive facilities. These include two 25m pools, a shaded pool for little ones, tennis courts, outdoor dining, barbeque facilities and direct beach access.

Another perk that comes with living in this amazing eco-development? There’s a resident manager who will prepare everything for you before you arrive home. Yup – freshly swept, new bed sheets, food in the fridge and so on.

With Sunrise at 1770 offering such a wonderful chance to get away from it all in the heart of Mother Nature, it’s hard to believe that two airports are a 90-minute drive away – Gladstone and Bundaberg. Red Rock Beach House
Moving onto the home that could be yours, Red Rock Beach House has been carefully designed to celebrate and enhance the connection between indoors and outdoors. The huge five-bedroom home has been divided into two elevated sections using a series of stepped timber platforms – offering glorious views of the ocean from each guest suite. Coastal living doesn’t get much better than that!

And we’re not talking your run-of-the-mill sea view. Red Rock offers the chance to sit and watch turtles, whales, sea eagles and ospreys. On land, you can also enjoy the sight of wallabies and butterflies galore – from both your home and one of Sunset at 1770’s many tree houses across the private estate.

Both internal and external stairways link the upper pavilion (where the bedrooms are) with the lower pavilion (kitchen, living area and master suite). With the ability to host many guests (one interconnecting bunk room sleeps eight kids!), you may think that there would be a lack of privacy at Red Rock. However, the lofty space is designed to ensure that suites are secluded – for when you fancy being at one with the trees while the rest of the group cracks into a board game downstairs.

The owner of Red Rock, who (unsurprisingly) is very sad to sell up, worked closely with their architects to create a luxurious, yet practical home. They used the very best when it came to technical appliances and fixtures, plus the home is offered fully and exquisitely furnished.

Here’s what the owner wrote in a letter to the architects after first moving into Red Rock: “They captured very early the essence of what we wanted, a modern beach house immersed in nature. We are now the proud owners of the most amazing beach house on one of the most amazing beaches in Australia. And as we sit watching turtles, whales, sea eagles, ospreys and wallabies there is literally nothing we would change.”

Offered below replacement cost, Red Rock offers a genuine opportunity to secure one of the world’s most wonderful homes in a ready-to-move-in situation.

How cute! Love this Easter twist on devilled eggs 🐣Thanks @expat_kitchen! Instructions below ✨ Full recipe on our site
.
.
.
.Instructions:1. Peel hard-boiled eggs. With a sharp knife, slice off a very thin layer from the base of the egg so it can stand. Cut a generous top off the egg, and set top aside. Using a small melon baller, scoop out the yolk carefully (be careful not to break the white part!).
2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine 10 cooked yolks and mash well with a fork. Add mayonnaise, Dijon, garlic powder and salt. Mash everything together until smooth. Transfer mixture to Ziploc or pastry bag and pipe generously into egg bases. Place top 1/3 back over the base and press down slightly to adhere.
3. For the eyes, poke through an olive with a plastic straw several times, then gently squeeze down the straw, and the little circles of olives will pop right out. For the beaks, thinly slice a few rings of carrot and cut each ring into sixths. Insert two olive spots for the eyes and two carrots wedges for the beak. Set chicks on a platter and garnish with noodles, or parsley or dill to give them that “free range” feel.
So much fun @artzooworld tonight! Check it out before it ends this Sunday. Don't forget water and sunscreen! - Amy G. #expatlivingsg #artzoo #marinabay #igsg #sgig #singaporekids #inflatablepark
