Spoil your friends with a spa party at home!

28th April 2021 by Anthia Chng 4 Min Read

https://expatliving.sg/spa-party-at-home-massage-mobile-mani-pedi/

We all love a good spa session – whether it’s a quick mani, a pampering pedi or a relaxing full body massage. If you can’t find the time to head out, Aleyda Mobile Spa brings the spa to your doorstep with its home spa party service! Especially popular for hen’s nights, birthdays and anniversaries, the package includes nail services and massages, all done in the comfort of your home. Expat Living reader MAY HEADECH recently gave it a try – read on for her review!

Reader review: a spa party at home

As a busy working mother, the occasional girls’ night out is something I always look forward to. My girlfriends and I make it a point to meet up once a month, usually chatting on end over food and drinks. With the COVID-19 new normal, however, we have brought our get-togethers indoors. Not only is it safer this way, we can also hang out for as long as we want, and do whatever we like.

In April, it was my turn to host the girls’ night in. With my buddy’s birthday approaching, I wanted it to be extra special. So when I learnt that Expat Living was looking for a reviewer for a pamper spa party, I jumped at the opportunity!

But mind you, this isn’t the typical pamper party in a bricks-and-mortar spa. It’s set up in the convenience and safety of your home – or a retreat location, if you choose. The idea of a mobile spa party sounded perfect for our girls’ night in.

The only tricky bit was getting the boys out of the house for a few hours; but it was something daddy was able to arrange under the guise of father-child bonding.

Massages, mani, pedi and more

Aleyda’s home spa party menu comprises massages and mani-pedi treatments, with add-on options. A package for four starts at $450 for two spa professionals for two hours in total (one hour per person). You can choose from three packages: nail bar, back and foot massage, or full-body massage. While it was simple, the menu spoke to us.

With exactly four participants, the booking process was straightforward. We mulled over the massage options for a while. Without the need for disrobing, the back and foot massage seemed more appealing as it would allow us to continue interacting in the same space. Ideally, the full-body massage service should be enjoyed in a separate room for a completely relaxing experience.

The nail bar ($450) and full-body massage eventually became our treatments of choice. Although priced higher at $490, we felt that the full-body massage would provide more thorough bodywork for our weary bodies. Those who prefer not to disrobe can opt for shiatsu, a dry acupressure type of massage. The package ($940 in total) included a classic gel manicure, a classic pedicure, and a 60-minute full-body massage for four of us. We thought the price was very reasonable for the luxury and convenience that Aleyda Mobile Spa brings.

Professional spa party with a full setup

On the day of the spa party, two nail technicians and two massage therapists were promptly deployed to my home. Together with four of us lucky ladies, we were well within the government-imposed limit of eight guests per household.

A multitude of equipment had to be set up in preparation for the party: plush treatment tables with fresh sheets; a nail station with foot tubs and nail-curing lamps; 60 gel polishes and 60 lacquer polishes; spa music and aromatherapy. But all it took was 15 minutes for the team to set up. And that’s no surprise, as Aleyda Mobile Spa has been providing spa parties for over a decade.

Relaxing yet therapeutic massages

The spa party was professionally executed, providing just the sort of pampering we were in dire need of. The therapists were warm, personal and attentive, making us feel every bit like royalty. Furthermore, the massage healed much of the pre-existing conditions we’d been battling with.

The truth was, I’d been suffering from excruciating pain in my right elbow and arm. This condition had handicapped me on numerous occasions where I was left without basic hand function and movement. Accordingly, I instructed my massage therapist to focus her treatment on these areas.

However, she informed me that the root cause of the pain was probably a pinched nerve in my neck, not in my elbow or arm. She proceeded to knead the tight knots in my neck and it instantly attenuated my elbow and arm pain. From there on, I realised that this pain could be connected to my cervical spondylosis, a neck condition that I was already diagnosed with. That was a real eye-opener for me.

My other girlfriends also experienced substantial relief from their aches and pains in varying degrees. By the end of it, we walked away feeling lighter and well prepared for the week ahead.

Spa parties for special occasions

Apart from birthdays, Aleyda’s mobile spa party service would also befit a hen’s party, baby shower, and even a welcome or farewell party. Variations of this pamper party concept have also been adapted to kids’ spa parties (the mani and pedi option is a popular pick!) and corporate events.

So, for your next social event, consider Aleyda Mobile Spa. It’s a wonderful way to meld me-time and we-time with your girlfriends.
