Singapore’s new ice bar at MBS: Giving ‘chilling out’ a whole new meaning

We love an ace bar. Sorry, ice bar

Those crazy folks who complain about missing the cold after moving to Singapore can get a taste of their previous life at a new ice bar at the 2 Degree Ice Art Exhibition along Sheares Link, next to Marina Bay Sands hotel.

With a seating capacity of over 120 guests, the 2Degree Ice Bar comprises a normal bar and a -15 °C ice lounge with furniture made entirely out of ice.

As the first bar in Singapore to serve drinks in special ice mugs, one of the ice bar’s big attractions is a special throw-zone which allows guests to smash their ice mugs against an ice wall just for kicks or to unleash any frustrations. Just the ticket if you’ve just missed out on that massive bonus or a promotion you thought was nailed on.

The ice bar is open until May 2014, and the Happy Hours are well worth checking out. It’s one-for-one on beer mugs and jugs until 8pm every day; you can indulge in an all-you-can-drink alcohol buffet on Tuesdays between 8-10pm, and all you bachelor boys make sure you get down on Wednesday nights when ladies can get stuck in to signature cocktails for free from 8-9pm and 10-11pm.

Oh, and if you turn up in your shorts and t-shirt, the ice bar offers complimentary rental of winter coats and gloves.

Opening Hours (Ice Bar)
