Christmas food and gifts – sorted
Why is it always the festive season that makes us crave our favourite brands and comfort food from back home? Well, you can find all sorts of flavours, ingredients and condiments for your Christmas food from around the world at this huge cashless supermarket. Located in Pasir Panjang, it sells over 20,000 grocery items from countries like Australia, the United States, Japan, Korea, Italy and Greece, 1000 of which they carry exclusively. Now that’s spoilt for choice!
Highlights that will catch your eye include their wide selection of meats, like Little Joes natural grass-fed tenderloin from Australia, or Miyazaki A4 wagyu ribeye or snow-aged Niigata beef from Japan (if steak for Christmas is your thing!). Get your seasoning right too with Olsson’s Redgum smoked salt flakes, or if you’re like me and will find an excuse to put truffle on anything, sniff out their selection of truffle creams, butters and mustards from brands Urbani, Sabatino and Geofoods. Love to put together a hearty salad for the table? Check out their wide selection of balsamic vinegar and vinaigrette from Japan, America and Italy. They have great quality honey too – check out Elene’s pine honey from Greece, or fragrant Bona Mel raw thyme honey from Spain.
Those with a sweet tooth will also love their selection of chocolates, sweets and popcorn. For the festive season, many of these also come in a super sized option – perfect for gifts under the tree and prices start from $3.80. Brands include Haribo, Dr. Oetker, Toblerone, Hershey, Jelly Bean, Popcorn Kitchen and more. Kids’ will also love the huge gingerbread house which stands close to four metres high and includes life-sized gingerbread women!
