Singapore Street Style: Meet Sophie Ferguson Jones

Who said Singapore lacked fashion sense? We took to the streets, camera in hand, ready to snap women who exude individuality and have awesome personal style! Sophie Ferguson Jones is Creative Consultant and its clear to see her creativity doesn’t stop in the workplace.

Her story…

My husband and I relocated from London just over 18 months ago, with our two-week-old son Arlo in tow.

Her style is…

A real mix! I like to play around with fashion, so I’ll often clash prints, mix pretty looks with tough accessories and play around with proportions. But I’ll always wear a classic staple to bring the look back down to earth.

Where she shops…

Far East Plaza is an Aladdin’s cave: it houses so many great independent boutiques and you’ll often unearth an unexpected find in there – you’ve just got to work for it. I love Edit Lifestyle’s resort wear too; it’s always sure to have something to lust over.

Her wardrobe must-haves…

My shoe collection! I might not be able to wear them nearly as much as I would like to, but I rotate them from my London wardrobe to wait for that perfect occasion in Singapore. I have some samples, right off the runway, that I will never part with.

A fun fact…

During my time in New York I interned for Anna Wintour at US Vogue, where I would fetch her coffee and deliver her dry cleaning on a daily basis. I also worked under Grace Coddington and Andre Leon Talley – some of the greats!

Her guilty pleasures…

Chocolate! The richer, the better. Easter in our household was a nightmare!

Favourite places for shopping abroad…

Collette, when I’m in Paris – whether you end up with a trinket or a ready-to-wear item, there’s something for everyone. Maje and Sandro are my fail-safes; it’s rare for me to leave without a purchase, so I have to limit my visits! Relik on Golborne Road in Notting Hill, London, is special for one-of-a kind vintage pieces.

“A killer statement piece can make an outfit, even when just paired with classic staples to bring your look right up to date.”
