A new fitness experience you’ll love

18th December 2021 by Amy Greenburg 4 Min Read

https://expatliving.sg/singapore-gym-membership-hiit/

There’s an exclusive gym in Singapore that offers plenty of perks, minus the pricey gym membership. From strength- and agility-based sessions to HIIT classes to personalised training and top-notch equipment, here’s why you’ll want to check out this just-opened gym in the CBD.

A Singapore gym with all the perks

These days, fitness is a lifestyle. It’s about much more than just exercise. It’s a social, motivational and mental health booster. So, choosing a place to embark on your fitness journey is a big deal. Everything from the setting to class variety to convenience has to be taken into account. And, of course, price.

If you’re looking to tick all the boxes with a Singapore gym in the CBD, have a look at Urban Den. It’s a sleek members-only gym at Raffles Place (#B2-01 Change Alley Mall, 30 Raffles Place) where you’ll get plenty of perks, but without having to commit to long-term monthly gym membership. Here are four reasons we’re loving this just-opened Singapore gym:

#1 It’s a super-cool space

At almost 15,000 square feet, Urban Den has plenty of room for everyone looking to decompress through fitness, focus on themselves, sweat it out and have a great time in the process.

The gym’s got a sleek grunge-chic look, decked out with a mix of coal grey, neutral woods and brand-new, state-of-the-art, red-hued resistance training machines, making for a seriously cool vibe. There are designated studios for classes like recovery yoga, TRX, and a dedicated spot for spin class; the latter includes bikes that let your instructor know just how you’re doing – so, no slacking!

Even the changing areas are impressive. Well-equipped with Dyson hair dryers, it’s a place where you’ll actually want to get ready for work!

#2 Training sessions can be personalised to you

Urban Den offers personalised, results-driven training sessions by fitness coaches who are athletes themselves. In fact, they have extensive knowledge in nutrition and sports science. So, whether you’re looking to refine and sculpt or achieve a full-body overhaul, you can rest easy knowing you’ll get a personalised fitness regimen developed just for you by the in-house fitness coaches who know what they’re doing.

At Urban Den, your fitness journey starts by understanding your body on a deeper level. The gym’s got an InBody Body Composition Analyser that can accurately measure your BMI, and analyse muscle and fat content. (We’re not sharing ours!) The trainers will go through this with you, and you can monitor the app on your own phone, checking on stats and goals.

#3 There are loads of different classes to choose from daily

Urban Den offers a variety of high-performance classes. So, if you’re looking for high-energy HIIT, you’ve come to the right place. Some of the hottest high-intensity classes include Les Mills BodyAttack – a cardio-focused class with lots of running, lunging and jumping – and the mixed martial arts-inspired Les Mills BodyCombat. Les Mills BodyPump is another fan favourite that incorporates light to moderate weights and high reps to get you lean and toned.

Bonus points for the fact that all classes and training sessions can be booked on Urban Den’s mobile app. This makes it super easy and convenient. You can even pick your exact spot in advance. (This means you can snag your favourite bike for that indoor spin class!)

If you love a good HIIT workout…

In January 2022, Urban Den will also introduce a whole new series of HIIT programmes curated by their High Intensity Functional Training instructors. More than just conditioning muscles and improving strength, these new HIIT programmes aim to drive up your aerobic fitness, agility and speed.

#4 It’s all about flexibility

No matter what type of training you choose, you don’t have to be tied to a long-term gym membership if you don’t want to be. Urban Den members have the flexibility to take single classes before committing to a longer-term gym membership. So, you can have one-on-one training or try out different group classes without having to commit; this is great in the current climate (and rare at a Singapore gym!). Here’s how it works:

If you want group classes or personal training only…

Members who don’t want to be tied down to lengthy subscription periods can opt to purchase class-only packages. These come in the form of Single Class, 10-Class or 20-Class options, with validity of two weeks, 10 weeks and 20 weeks, respectively. And, of course, the more classes you buy in a package, the more you save per class. For instance, a one-time class is $29 but if you buy a 10-Class package, you’ll pay $24. And, if you want a trial first, Urban Den’s got an introductory offer: three sessions for $49.

Psst – Right now, you can get three months of complimentary gym access with a purchase of 50 personal training sessions!

If you want classes and gym access…

Those who want access to both the classes and gym floor can sign up for a monthly gym access membership and enjoy access to one class daily. This is a very wallet-friendly way to go, especially if you plan on going every day. For a yearly membership of $149 a month, you get daily gym access and one class per day, which works out to be around $5 per class!
