In a surprisingly early move this year, the folks behind Singapore Grand Prix 2015 have revealed which superstars will be performing on the Padang Stage following the F1 races. No more funny puzzle things on Facebook, eh?
The artists heading to the Red Dot on September 18 and 19 will be… drumroll… as if you can’t already see it in the headline and photos… Pharrell Williams and Maroon 5!
Woohoo! That’s a cool line up of two solid, funky artists for Singapore’s F1 fans (and those of us who just trot along for the brilliant atmosphere).
Pharrell Williams will be taking to the huge, outdoor Padang Stage on September 18 following the Friday race. This will be his first concert in Singapore, and he’ll no doubt be belting out popular hits including Happy (because you probably haven’t heard that one enough), Get Lucky and Blurred Lines. We hope he wears that funny hat of his.
You’ll be able to catch Pharrell’s show at The Padang with F1 tickets that offer access to Zone 4 on September 18. Or, you can buy a three-day 2014 ticket at earlybird prices (up to 25 percent off) right now from $228. Check them out here. Tip: the cheapest F1 ticket you can buy to view the race and the headline concert will be a ‘zone 4 single day walkabout ticket’, which will be on sale later this year.
On 19 September, following the Saturday race, Maroon 5 will be rocking out at The Padang. You may remember the lads performing to the 50,000-strong F1 crowd back in 2012 – they must have had a marvellous time.
We bet you could sing at least three Maroon 5 tracks off by heart, with massive hits including Moves Like Jagger, Payphone and This Love. Their stop in Singapore will be part of their 2015 world tour, with the chaps promoting their latest album, V. Fun fact: Maroon 5 have a record for the most number one hits by a group in the US ever.
What Grand Prix ticket do you need to see Maroon 5? You can access The Padang Stage via Zone 4 on September 19. Or you can snap up your three-day 2014 ticket for up 25 percent off if you buy it now via the F1 website. Tip: the cheapest F1 ticket you can buy to view the race and the show will be a ‘zone 4 single day walkabout ticket’, which will be on sale later this year.
A third act, the iconic British band Spandau Ballet, has also been announced. The gents will make their Singapore debut at the Village Stage in Zone 1 on Saturday September 19 – a more intimate stage inside the circuit. Following a 20-year hiatus after their split in 1990, Spandau Ballet reunited in 2009 and have been performing sell-out arena tours ever since. Access to the band’s performance at the Village Stage is included with any three-day or Saturday zone 1 ticket.
Check back soon for additional announcements – including the main Sunday headliner!
