Photographed by world-renowned photographer Michael Freeman, Singapore Colonial Style offers a look at the interiors of 23 iconic colonial buildings across the island, including black-and-white homes, clubs, hotels and shophouses. Conceptualised by British expats Charles and Luli Orchard, who lived in a historical house near the Botanic Gardens, the book features an introduction by Dr Julian Davison, architectural historian, television presenter and expert on Singapore history, describing how and why these structures came to be built in the later part of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century.
