Unlike San Francisco and Milan where the best outlet stores are situated, Singapore is filled with endless mega-malls. So where do we go for branded goods at great prices during non-sale periods?
We’ve done the hard work for you and hunted down some of Singapore’s outlet shops, so read on.
Located opposite Expo MRT station, Changi City Point houses several outlet stores including Timberland, Lacoste and Nike Factory. Here are some stores worth visiting, especially for shoe lovers.
Charles & Keith (#01-33) stocks past season collections with discounts up to 70 percent. We found a great pair of strappy wedges for only $16.90. Sizes 40 and 41 are usually available.
More shoes like Etienne Aigner and Franco Sarto are available at Branded Outlet (#02-29/30). Sizes run up to 42 for Franco Sarto. Their heels and wedges are comfortable, too. Priced at $99 (usual $199), they’re a pretty good deal for quality Italian shoes.
Though not an outlet store, Payless ShoeSource (#01-04/05) is a must-visit. They have plenty of designs from embellished sandals to sequinned wedges in sizes up to 43. We found T-strap sandals at $19.90 and classic brown pumps at $29.90.
Head to the West Coast for Rip Curl Discount Outlet (#01-27/49 West Coast Plaza) before your next beach vacation. T-shirts cost $15 while dresses and swimwear cost $30 (usually $99.90). Swimwear sizes go up to 14.
Anchorpoint in Alexandra Road also has a cluster of outlet stores, including Pedro Outlet (#01-29) where shoes are discounted by up to 70 percent. We found men’s loafers for $69.90 and classic heels for less than $50. Get a pair of Marc Jacobs sunglasses for under $200 at Capitol Optical Outlet (#01-20), which also carries brands like Gucci and Versace.
Across the island, the Esprit Outlet (#01-19/20/21 Sembawang Shopping Centre) has something for the entire family. They carry women’s, men’s and children’s wear and accessories such as sunglasses, bags, shoes and watches. From $9.90. There’s also an Esprit outlet in Changi City Point.
We’re hoping outlet shopping fever catches on here soon so there’ll be plenty more options for bargain hunters.
