Did you know that a furnishing is only considered antique if it’s 100 years or older? Yup, anything less than that is vintage, darling. So, with that in mind, we trawled Singapore’s furniture stores to bring you our pick of the best showrooms to visit for prized antique pieces, from Chinese collectors’ pieces to Colonial Antiques from India.
The Past Perfect Collection
315 Outram Road #11-05 Tan Boon Liat Building Singapore 169074
Love colonial-style furniture? Then you’ll want to hotfoot it to The Past Perfect Collection in Bukit Timah where British colonial antiques made during the 19th century in India are the stars of the showroom. The collection bears the personal touch of Dutch couple and owners Pieter and Marie-Hélène van Houten, who travel to India and handpick original pieces that once adorned the stately colonial mansions. The store is filled with gorgeous top-quality antique furniture that has been restored to its former glory with exquisite polishing and fresh upholstery. Pop along for great ideas on how to incorporate antiques into modern spaces and save a few admiring glances for their gift-worthy silver collection and framed antique maps.
EL tip: Sign up to Past Perfect’s newsletter via their website so you can be among the first to know when a new shipment of colonial furniture docks in Singapore. Ahead of the pack and all!
