This is a casual, laid-back restaurant, where the dishes are simple classics, and pizza is the speciality of the house. Try the calzone, puffed to perfection and full of gooey goodness. If the fillings on the menu aren’t quite your cup of tea, Chef will gladly modify them to your liking. For blue cheese lovers try the gorgonzola 11-inch pizza, which has a thin crust and is surprisingly light.
A single scoop of the Nutella homemade gelato will finish off the meal nicely. And if a single scoop isn’t enough, there are plenty of ice cream concoctions to choose from, including an eight-scoop gelato sundae.
The charming CEO, Ezio Barbero, is a true-blue Italian from Turin, who made his debut in the restaurant industry at the tender age of 16. His first order was a spaghetti carbonara for an Italian casino owner named Franco – how perfect! Ezio’s pasta passed the test and today he serves up authentic Italian dishes at Clarke Quay. Diners can choose from indoor or alfresco dining; from a prime waterside table, Clarke Quay at night makes a great backdrop. Amalfi is popular with the tourist crowd, and after 9pm the place is buzzing with diners.
