Pink Salt Swim

We love the eye-catching swimwear from local label Pink Salt Swim, which creates beautiful pieces with one-of-a-kind digital prints. Designed in modern yet modest silhouettes, strategically placed colour block panels also help to create the illusion of a slimmer silhouette (yes, please!) Prices range from $109 for a strapless bandeau swimsuit to $159 for a halter bikini swimwear set, with sizes ranging from a UK 6 to 14.

Shop online at pinksaltswim.co or at What Women Want, Mandarin Gallery and Yacht 21, Wheelock Place.

K.Blu Swim

We love the bold and colourful prints from K.Blu Swim, which launched onto our shores in 2014. Available in seriously chic prints and silhouettes (check out the crossover bikini sets and ruffled off-shoulder one piece), there’s nothing not to love from this local label. What’s more, K.Blu is just about to launch its first Curve collection this November. For a limited time, you can trade in your old swimwear (size UK 14 and above) for them to fit you with a new special swimsuit. Participants will receive a limited edition K.Blu beach kaftan, special discount codes and first dibs on the new collection.

Shop online at kblu.com or in store at #02-14 Mandarin Gallery, 333A Orchard Road, and Isetan Scotts, Level 2 Restyle

August Society

A dedicated swimwear label with sizes ranging from a UK 6 to 16, August Society offers a wide range of colourful bikinis, one pieces, rash guards and beachwear which will have you looking on point by the pool. A brand with eco-conscious values, it also uses fibres made from recycled plastic waste in its swimwear that would have otherwise ended up in landfill or, worse still, the ocean.

Available online at augustsociety.com or at Isetan Scotts, at Zhai, #02-26 Tanglin Mall or Foliage, #01-58 United Square

Melinda heads to a wet market! (Full video on IGTV Or YouTube) Did you know: The term “wet markets” came into common usage in the early 1970s when the Singapore government used the term to distinguish these markets from air-conditioned “supermarkets” that had become popular with the opening of Fitzpatrick’s supermarket in Orchard Road in 1958.
Singapore Slings are an iconic part of the Lion City’s history since 1915. But which one is best? Watch (swipe) and find out if the one where they all began is tops. Watch the full video on IGTV or our YouTube! Did you know it was illegal for women to drink alcohol then? The creator Ngiam Tong Boon created the Sling so women could hide the fact that they were drinking in public. #singaporesling #expatliving #reviewcrew #igsg #longbar @raffleshotelsingapore
